When your water starts running out in, tops, ten years because of all the 'odd weather' or is poisoned from all the incredibly toxic chemicals fracking pumps into what remains of local aquifers, don't be surprised. But hey you can't see those chemicals so they can't possibly be doing anything right?

I'm not sure if its Arizona or Nevada but one of those states has pretty much zero BLM land you can shoot on for free. Wanna' know why? Because in time of budget crisis they have systemically sold it all off to private corporations to use for 'natural resource extraction'. FYI all this idea being backed by corporate America about turning over control of federal lands to states, This, is exactly why ALEC and the like want state control of federal lands. This is what that is, really, all about. So the public lands we all grew up hiking, camping, swimming, hunting on/in can be privatized and sold off to the highest bidder. Then of course tax payers will have to foot the bill for all the pollution left behind, and the local populations il have all the diseases that come with the pollution after whatever corporation had extracted all the wealth they can from our public lands.

Like Orwell said; 'ignorance is strength.'

Good riddance.
I honestly do know of any state or even religion that teaches Jesus walks with dinosaurs, or that the earth is flat.
Please provide evidence for these claims so we can all learn something!

Next please provide evidence that fracking is ruining or can ruin the water supply. While your at it please list the toxic chemicals and how they are used. We are doing slant drilling here and I just had a glass of safe delicious tap water. Oh yeah and I filled up my supercharged car with fuel and didn't have to have a wait or get a permit. Yeah its a buck a gallon more than free states, but hey thats what you democrats voted for! As an aside Exxon mobil still pays a dividend every quarter and that offsets the high cost we suffer from!

While I do not shoot on BLM land. Your claim there is no place to shoot free in Arizona or Nevada is flat out wrong. I know because we have done it a few times !

BTW you have ignored my questions about your animal that is displayed as an avatar.
Please tell us about him/her or even if its a non binary type. I for one am interested in reading something factual from you.

Generally the fellow making the claim gets to prove it - as in, which state teaches Jesus walked with dinosaurs, the Earth is flat, etc. If one is to take the assertion seriously. Which I do not. Regarding "can't shoot on BLM land". Well, so what. One can shoot on private land. Or at one of many private ranges in NV and AZ, true? I have a few acres in OR - I shoot in my back yard. Or the nearby Josephine County Sportsmen's Club all of 10 minutes away. So, to cite "can't shoot on BLM" land is a bit of dissembling.

Try finding a nearby private range around the SF area where one can shoot their conventionally configured AR 15, FAL or folding stock M1 Carbine. Oh, wait …….

There seems to be a lot of folks on either side telling others what to do, and passing judgement on them for doing so. I travel, spend time driving cross country fairly often. I would say that attitude is "over-represented" in CA. And it's rather unpleasant.

Just checked in to see how well everyone is getting along on CalGuns. Since we moved out of PRK a few years ago, I don't spend nearly as much time on the forum as I used to.

I see that things haven't changed much, especially with the "you're a coward if you leave" bovine fecal matter. A man only gets so many years. For me, it's better to have less of a Government boot on my neck than to try delude myself that it's heroic to "stay and fight the good fight." A fun thing to do is to ask those spouting the coward line is what they themselves are do to "fight" and what has been the results of that "fight." The actual answers to those questions are invariably nothing and nothing. Too funny.

Otoh, I'd say you are a coward if you have the means to move and do not move.

Heroic? Name a hero who's currently doing anything to improve RKBA laws in California.

Fight? The result of a fight is both a winner and a loser...no comment as who's winning in California and who's losing.

Beyond that, NO unified plan nor players. No organized gun owners' group in the state.

Just put in an offer today on a new home out of CA. Cowardice, heroics, and the opinions of anyone other than myself had absolutely nothing to do with the decision to move. Economics and personal freedom were my reasons. I was researching air rifle laws as a possible alternative to the recent ammo mess (and all the other crappy laws) when the lightbulb went on and I realized I have no reason to stay in CA.

Yep. I got out 2+ years ago. Did anybody tell a Jew he was a "coward" or whatever when he fled Germany in 1933?

Same backbiting, posturing, infighting - and Bible thumping - as has always gone on here, nothing changes, nothing will.

Considering the liberty you enjoy is mostly based on biblical principles. You might want to show some respect and appreciate the fact Florida has a large Christian influence and it was that influence that got Trump the electoral votes he needed.

You are both wise and insightful.

Interesting that the dyspeptic architect chastises those who dislike California by employing those same methods to cut down other states.

Gavin Newscum just signed a law that the State (the tax payers) will be providing free healthcare to illegals. And it will be paid for by the “fines” of those who pay into Kalifornia’s version of Obamacare.

WTF?

That is just the latest tax (insult) to the law abiding, tax paying, hard working people of the State.
Just another example of the citizenry subsidizing criminals/illegals. The Dims have a 2/3 majority in the State Senate and Assembly, they can’t be stopped . They passed a law that made ballot harvesting legal, that’s how they were able to steal House seats in OC. None of my interests or concerns have been represented at the State or Federal level for almost 30 years. It’s just been a matter of limiting losses.

There is no point in trying fighting. Liberal policies that attract and encourage homelessness, drug addiction, illegal immigration are reinforced at with a continual supply of money.

The Elites are not affected by these policies. Nob and Russian Hill have none of the homeless problem the rest of the Frisco has. There are no piles of human fecal matter or needles piling up there. The police insure the riffraff are kept away.

Same thing in Los Angeles. The tent cities that occupy downtown LA have conservatively grown by 16% last year alone. Police and safety personnel have been infected by typhus and typhoid. Part of the rat population has tested positive for Plague. Soon the homeless will start getting infected and it will decimated that population and spread to the rest State. The only question, how many healthcare workers will get infected? How many 1st responders? How many will die? Will the Elites care or do anything to solve the problem?

Nothing will change until the State hits bottom or one of the crusaders gets sick and dies.

I thought the death of Kate Steinle by the 6 time deported, multiple convicted felon would start a rebellion. It didn’t. Maybe, some Hollywood type will get infected at a soup kitchen, while serving Thanksgiving dinner during a 30 minute photo op, and die. Or some pols kid or grandchild d.

Then something may happen. But don’t count on it.

No, people aren’t being soft, weak will, or cowardly for deciding to leave. They are being logical and analytical. There is no reason to be part of the mass suicide by declining to drink the grape kool-aid when one can just walking away to enjoy life, freedom, and prosperity.

I am one of the few native born, bread, educated, homegrown Californian in the circle of people I know. I was here during the State’s glory days and have watched the decline to a shell of its former self. The State is on a path to become a NYC’s Times Square of the ‘60’s and ‘70’s. And that’s not the bottom.

If all goes well, when I retire, in a few years, I will leave the state, take my home equity and pension to live in a Free State, when I don’t have to worry about being taxed out of my house to pay for some illegals healthcare, education, and welfare benefits.

Sometimes you just have to let the sick horse die. Since we can’t shoot it, it will just wither on the vine.

Here we go - "Christians invented everything", and everything good comes from "that BOOK".

Hardly. I'm "over" all stripes of monotheism run amok because that's what monotheistic belief systems do: Run rampant over everybody else. They always have, they always will; its built into their anti-ethical belief system.

The best thing that could possibly happen to the GOP would be if they threw the Christianists the heck OUT. Its why they're hanging on by their fingernails and keep losing elections. The *ONLY* reason Trump won was because he is NOT a Christianist so those of us who are tired of both the Bible-thumping as well as the Socialist-Liberal rhetorics actually had somebody to vote for FOR ONCE. As it was, he lost a lot of votes over his veep choice which was VERY unfortunate.

I honestly do not expect a cal gunner of your stature to read how the President Trump got 81% of the Christian coalition vote's but here it is anyway.

"You really did. Last year, you knocked on more than 1.2 million doors in the key battleground states where, as you remember, we focused. Supposed to be focusing on those states. You sent 22 million pieces of mail, shared 16 million videos, and made 10 million phone calls. That’s something. (Applause.)
And I’m honored by your incredible support, and grateful for your commitment to our shared cause. Thank you for all that you do. Thank you very much. (Applause.) Thank you. You didn’t let me down, and I will never, ever let you down. You know that. (Applause.)

We will always support our Evangelical community, and defend your right, and the right of all Americans, to follow and to live by the teachings of their faith. And as you know, we’re under siege. You understand that. But we will come out bigger and better and stronger than ever. You watch." (Applause.)

Communism and religion are mortal enemy's and if you haven't figured it out Communism and Socialism are also moral enemies to RKBA !

Not always. I'm on my way out, but keeping ownership of a pair of Prop 13 grandfathered (1962 & 1930's) very nice residences that will generate nearly 100% positive cash flow that Kalisuck will not get. The taxes on those properties are about one-eleventh per year compared to the neighboring properties, so there is no need for me to sell and give the organ washers any increased revenue.

Those who say to resist are foolish. Big talk will not count for anything, when a bunch of government thugs, wearing masks and body armor, bust your door down at 3AM and stick a machine gun in your face. Stay legal. Leave if you don't like the law.

I am in the same boat as you. My elderly and diabetic father-in law who lives with us cannot/will not be displaced from our “great” city of San Bernardino. (Don’t ask how we got here, I’m from Texas originally lol) Meanwhile, my daughter and son-in-law moved to Idaho where they are living the dream. We too have scouted out a location close to them and now we just wait. Of course not wishing for anything to happen to my father-in-law. We do drop lots of hints that it wouldn’t be the end of the world if he moved with us. His whole family is down here and he is close to his brothers so he won’t have it, and none of my Wife’s siblings can take on the responsibility of taking him in if we leave.

Which has what to do with the price of beans?

Nothing.

There are far more people who won't vote GOP because of their continued pandering to the Christianists, than there are people who *do* vote GOP because of it.

And I'll be more than happy to sell my home to some sucker who wants to live here and pay all those taxes that will always go up. I will laugh all the way to the bank and to my new home out of state paid in full for what I can get my house for here.

Screw this state and Socialists who move here and ruined this state. Staying here longer than necessary is a waste of time.

Freedom is across the state border not here any longer. You can stay here and watch what freedom you have left if any and pay more in taxes than you would in another state.

So even if I were at one time pro-choice or even anti established religion. I realize we need them and they need us to stop a far greater threat from the the ungodly, atheist democrats than we do from any people of faith !

IIRC the GOP has 34 state governments compared to 16 of the godless, antigun democrat states.

In fact you moved to a GOP state from a democrat state.

I love Florida, but the climate is unbearable lots of the year. Still the liberty Floridians enjoy makes it attractive, along with the great a friendly people I have met there.

Then we're gonna have to agree to disagree - I'll take an Atheist over a Christianist or an Islamist any day of the week with the caveat that all other things are equal. 2,000+ years of bad history at the hands of monotheists means I don't trust their ethics as they have few, and many of what they call "morals" don't coincide with my ethics. And there are a lot of people like me - maybe even the majority.

But the "two party system" is broken as neither one of them represents me, or many other people for that matter - they're both 1/3rd right, and 2/3rds wrong and are complete fanatics about all of it. As "Treebeard" said, "I am on nobody's side, because nobody is on my side..."

You are right in tune with every anti gun Communist country where religion is mocked, its followers jailed and murdered.

Ah yes, now we get into obsolete language such as "mock", a word that should be left in the 19th century where it belongs.

I'm not decrying religion in general, only monotheism.

Speaking of "murder", shall we discuss how many millions have been murdered by Abrahamic Monotheism over the last 2,000 years? Mmmmm?

I love it!!!! It's a great plan, until the Legislature passes a law that rental properties are excluded from Prop. 13 protection.

The Dims will first remove "Big" corporations from Prop. 13, those whose sales are 10 billion dollars.
Then "Big" corporations will be considered and one that have sales of $1 billion.
Then $100,000,000 dollars.
Then "Big" corporate apartment complexes, over 10,000 total units.
Then 1,000 total units.
Then any location with more than 100 units.
then 10 units.

They will target you eventually. You better have a plan to sell a long time before then get to your level. They will come after your money eventually.

The Dims continually have to find a way to feed the constantly growing spending beast.

We do drop lots of hints that it wouldn’t be the end of the world if he moved with us. His whole family is down here and he is close to his brothers so he won’t have it, and none of my Wife’s siblings can take on the responsibility of taking him in if we leave.

I am in the same position with my father and mother-in-laws. They will not leave this crap hole, Stockton, even though where they live, the crime rate is climbing fast as their area is becoming a gang infested ghetto. They have been burglarized many times in the past 5 years and never had a problem before.

We are out of here in two years. Our son already left the state. My wife retires in two years. I am already looking for a job out of state. I had planned to leave already but decided to hold out one more year.

My wife told her parents that when she can retire with full benefits, she is out of here. We are selling our house and never looking back. If they need our help, they will have to move to where we are at. We will have land and will be more than willing to build a house for them but we are not going to put our lives on hold because they want to stay in CA. My FIL refuses to live anywhere where it snows and we are considering moving to a state where it snows.

He crashed his motorcycle while stationed in Germany when he was in the AF in the 50s while driving on a snow covered road and so he has refused to live anywhere where it snows since leaving the AF. He is 85 and his days of driving will soon be over due to health issues so he will not have to worry about driving in the snow.

While I was dating his daughter, we drove to Idaho many times in the winter to visit my family and she learned to drive on snow and ice. We have taken them to the mountains in the winter during snow storms because they would not go otherwise. So driving in snow is not the the issue as they will not be driving but depending on us to drive.

They can stay here and figure things out themselves or move with us and enjoy more freedom, there choice.

I agree that this is likely to happen. I'm just hoping that people wake up or the system crashes and reboots before gets there. I see State bankruptcy as a likely outcome if people don't change the type of politicians we have now. It is impossible to take 110% of the population's wealth. So unless the State starts printing its own money it goes bankrupt.

If you plan to get out, do it NOW.

The housing market is changing rapidly.

Two years ago we sold our house in O.C. for over the asking price because the market was insane.

That is changing with the mass exodus.

Housing prices will drop as more homes go up for sale.

It is true that people are leaving California. But even if they were not markets go up and then they go down. The sun rises then it sets. Some things are pretty reliable. The next time the market resets a lot of people are going to be in a world of hurt. Too much debt. Kind of like the State of California if you think about it.
