FUD. The OPs situation with TSA saying the law had changed in January is complete BS (on the part of the TSA clown.). The regs havenít changed and arenít subject to ďlocalĒ interpretation.
Go fly with your guns and then tell me it's FUD. They will do as they please. And if you're inclined to fight with them be my guest. You may eventually win that fight, maybe. But you're also going to miss your flight too. The problem is that these regulations are often times ambiguous at best. Just like CA gun laws. And expecting low pay TSA workers to know them by heart is wishful thinking. So is thinking you can bend them to your will on the spot at the airport even with a copy of the regulations in your pocket. Like I said, if you have the time and luxury to fight them go ahead and do so. It's your prerogative.

I fly with my guns. I donít have problems. The point is, the law hasnít changed. In that instance, a document showing the law is unchanged can be helpful.

But, since you think they make stuff up on the fly, good luck.

My option at the time was to either give them the combination or go home. It wasn’t a discussion.

You're not the only one to fly with guns. I've had all kinds of crazy crap happen in the past. Granted, I haven't had issues in some time, but I know what I've experienced.
