Ichiro Nagata's son. From the mid-90's through the 2000's his dad was THE firearms photographer and the one everyone else knocked off. I'm not surprised his son is winning, his dad had a serious work ethic and did everything to perfection. Congrats Ken!

I was just watching videos of Ichiro and Ken the other day. Glad he's got a great mentor to start him off young.

What's Ichiro up to these days? Is he still doing training classes?

Amazing! Can't imagine that level of success at his age. I'm really glad to see him shooting rifles/carbines and handguns. In USPSA I see a lot of young shooters who are doing pretty well with the carbines but they never seem to come out and shoot handguns.

That's why I am not a big fan of Steel Challenge. It reminds me of all the shot-out USPSA classifiers, where the hit factors are pushed through the roof based on training a *specific* pattern, then going "hero or zero."

Don't get me wrong, whatever floats whosever boat is good with me, it's just not my favorite. Especially after seeing some of the training routines, where the top shooters don't stop on the target and work on the timing instead so they can hit targets pretty much off of the body index alone. It makes for very fast courses of fire, but change the geometry a bit or the size of the targets and it falls apart. It reminds me more of practicing a video game than shooting.

Just my (grumpy) 2c.

I've thought that at some point when I can't run move around at all that SC would be something I could shoot. But I can't imagine only shooting it exclusively with the same stages every month for years. They dont retire and introduce new stages very often. You can track your progress because the stages remain the same. Similar thing with trap shooting.

Just like hockey and Bitcoin, it pays to get started young.

And those steel challenge guys shoot like robots.

Doesn't hurt when your other mentor is Mickey and Logan Fowler.
