Default Edc knife

Looking for another knife. Right now I have a small Kershaw 1620 which is good but I'm looking for something a little bigger.

What do you recommend?

Ditto, if you like the 1620 you'll love the Blur and they are very reasonably priced. Durable knife too and available with a variety of blade styles.

I just received a Benchmade 555-1 with the Sheepsfoot blade and it's my new EDC. That replaced a Benchmade North Fork 15031, both are great knmives and legal in cities with 3" blade laws.

I carry a Benchmade 9170 triage. Best knife ever. Sad thing is that Benchmade did a dick move and took out the warranty centers at the local knife stores.

Here is a link of what it looks like: https://bladeops.com/benchmade-9170b...0-black-blade/

I strongly recommend it if you can find it.

I was given a Benchmade m390 nakamura with wooden handles. Loving it so far. Really pricey tho

Knifecenter has one with g10 handles

Other than that I also have the mini griptilian.

I’ve had a Spyderco Paramilitary2 for years. Love it for everyday use; used to have a couple benchmade and Gerber autos; they were just too thick to pocket carry for my liking. Like how thin the PM2 is

Can't go wrong at $25 if you like Kershaw:

https://www.bladehq.com/item--Kersha...r-Liner--70991

This is my EDC, with some $63 Micarta scales from Amazon:

https://www.bladehq.com/item--Ontari...er-Lock--50520

The D2 steel and $40 price tag was the selling point.

I have a couple of Benchmades, as well. Love them and would be heartbroken to lose them, but I'm not happy with Benchmade's current pricing compared to the blade size - they seem to have sold out to hipster collectors and fanbois; see their latest release - $136 for a 1.6" blade with no lock. That's downright absurd. I paid $125 for my 710S, and it has an Axis lock and a 3.75" blade.

Ganzo g704, I received one as a gift, surprisingly at the cost it's a great little knife.

Ive had a Benchmade Griptillian that a border patrol agent gave me when I was working with them in the National Guard 8 years ago. Carried it daily ever since. Sent it back to benchmade to get sharpened. They clean and tune the bearings and lock and send you back a RAZOR sharp blade for free. Love it.

I'm always curious about these posts. What do you guys do with your edc knives?

I own a couple expensive folders, but I carry a Gerber paraframe 2 everyday. Cost me about $25. It's basically a multitool and I do things with it that would probably make some of you throw up. The blade is scratched and nicked and needs sharpened at least once a week, but it's always there if I need to cut something or turn a screw.

There is no was way I'd carry any $200 knife everyday.

Spyderco.

I own a PM2, Manix & Tenacious, with a Perrin PPT on the way. They feature superb quality & ergos & are built to abuse. If you're wanting a smaller knife look at the Dragonfly & Delica. I can't say enough about these.

Personally I just cut things, generally reach for my EDC a couple of times a day at least.

I was taught to use the right tool for the job. When I need to turn a screw I grab the appropriate screwdriver, when I need to cut something I grab the appropriate cutter. To me an every day carry knife is a convenient tool suited for general cutting tasks.

Depends on the knife. I own a few high-end folders that are merely for the pleasure of fondling, some mid-range beauties that I carry regularly but will never do more than cut, and a few sub $100 blades that I've abused as needed.

Its nice to have a harem of sorts.

Give us a dollar amount. I carry a Strider SNG most days and a small Sebenza for dress occasions, but I realize there are a lot of folks that don't want to buy or carry knives that are that expensive.

And I carry one in case I have to cut a bitc....errr...person.

I kid. I'm much more likely to cut myself than someone else. I carry in case I need to cut something...might be as simple as opening a box or not wanting to jack with a small plastic knife to cut my steak at my friend's BBQ. What kind of savage doles out plastic knifes to cut a steak? Perhaps I need to find better friends.

Oh...and my knife is kinda an adult version of a fidget spinner. I tend to fondle it when I'm bored...errr...and NOT in public.

I rotate between a Zero Tolerance 0350ST, Kershaw 1660G10, Kershaw 1812GRY

The Kershaw 1812 is my frequent edc since it’s carried 5 days a week while at work (slim profile and perfect size) and the Zero Tolerance in weekends.

That is and always be my favorite knife. Good handle, lightweight with a strong blade. I just keep getting them stolen.

I use mine alot in the Locksmith field. The canted blade helps shave and the blunt end helps pry. Yeah it's expensive, but the most I ever have to pay to replace a part is $20 bucks.

I love my Opinel but just be aware this style is not a self defense knife since it takes some effort to open and lock the blade. Every knife person should own one since you can pick one up for under 15 bucks shipped on amazon. For under 25 bucks Ontario rat 1 gets my vote.

ZT 0450CF. Sleek light and fast. I have a Blur and Leek and an older Blackout. The Blur is a beast but not discreet enough for me for edc. As a work knife sure.

I carried the Kershaw 3180 Crown for years then went to the Honey Badger based on another thread recommendation.
Between the 2 I prefer the Honey Badger.

How much $$ you wanting to put into this? For me the 2 of the many knives I have seem to always be my go to's. The Spyderco Paramilitary 2 and the Manix. The PM2 ergonomics and blade fit are great. Also if you happen to be Active Duty Military, Military Veteran / Retiree, Law Enforcement Officer, Paramedic / Fire Rescue/EMT then you can register on the Spyderco website and receive 50% off msrp.
