Default Hoppes synthetic bore cleaner

My question is, why was Hoppes synthetic bore cleaner discontinued? I have an unopened bottle and want to make sure it is safe to use?
Thank you.

Interesting. I didn't know this until reading your post. A google search seems to support it. I could not find a recall notice on the product. I did find a recall on a different Hoppe's gun cleaner product due to lack of child proof packing. So it does appear the company is not opposed to issuing a recall when warranted. So, I would think it still remains a safe product. Perhaps just a marketing/business decision to discontinue it. Maybe someone with more concrete info can chime in .

Regardless, and for what it's worth; I'm a lifelong Hoppe's 9 and Elite user. I recently transitioned to M-Pro7. It's odorless, nontoxic, and biodegradable.....but still effective. I was pleasantly surprised. It is a Hoppe's product. Worth giving a try if you haven't already, once that last unopened bottle of Synthetic goes.

Just FYI...came back from the local Wally. Plenty of Hoppe's Synthetic still on the shelf.
