Default Can I get a list of all my registered firearms with the CA?

I would like a list from the state of CA of all Firearms they have on record for me.

Is that possible?

Reason:
I gave my dad a pistol years ago, and he had a stroke. I collected all his firearms, but cannot find the one I gave him.

I do not know if he ever registered it in his name (inter family transfer).

I of course don't know or readily have the serial number on hand.

If it is not registered with me any more then the problem isn't mine.

If not, then there is a potential complication.

I'm also probably over reacting. Dad is a hoarder, and I found all the magazines for it, so it makes no sense they would have been separated from the pistol itself.

Just covering my bases.

Thanks,

Mike last year took much longer than ten weeks, but it came. And is mostly accurate. But not completely.

I am ordering my list. I had some stolen over the years and could not find info on some. Nice to put in system to see if they surfaced.

The thought comes to mind as to what one might do if the list contained something that was not (or is no longer) in one's possession...

I probably shouldn't disclose this here.

The reaction from the Peanut Gallery is going to become unhinged.

Dad had a stroke
Mom has total power of attorney
Affair was discovered
We found a picture of the mistress holding the gun (she is located in Nevada)

If I don't find the gun, that's probably where it is.

Nothing to do. There is no way to remove yourself from being attached to them. When you sell one, it will still show up on the list, even if sold through an FFL and registered to the new owner.

Likely write it off as gone, and help with what is probably a very tough time for both parents, for different reasons for each.

Yep, it's a handful. I learned when invesigating some DV's, don't depend on dispatch. If you get a hit, run the guns serial on your own and check the returns on the gun itself.

You can fill out a NLIP (No Longer In Possession Form) it may or not work. May just be a way for the state to get money. Who knows...

Not too sure about that. I had a mini-14 a couple of years back that was on my AFS report and when I sold it I got an other report and it wasn't there.

That's fast.

When I submitted one a few years ago, it took 5 months for the results to show up in the mail.

Mine took a long time too. I forgot I ordered it when it finally came.

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gun has not been found. If it's not in the house I don't care.

I DID FIND A COPY OF THE TRANSFER PAPERWORK, and a COPY OF THE CHECK MY DAD USED TO PAY the $19 Registration.

So two things..........
1) Have the serial number now without waiting 10 weeks.
2) found or not, the gun is.........Not.........My..............Problem.... ..

This totally made my day.

My life has been a Mexican soap opera the last few weeks.

Probably a good idea we use power of attorney to get list of dad's guns, but urgency is greatly reduced now,
