And he seems to do okay with it...

Remington 700 Police LTR in 308, Police Trade-In Rifle. Rattle can paint job by department. I put more wear on the bolt just testing it out than it came with. So shot very little by the department. I added a Leupold Patrol Mil-Dot Firedot 3-9x40 Scope, Leupold Mark 4 Rings, Bi-Pod and Leather Sling, and Uncle Mikes Swivels.

Zero Compromise and Steel Core Designs out in the wild at the Ncpprc Long Range Practice and Match this past weekend. Chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor by Spartan Rifles

this thing is an absolute hammer. Also pictured is a Rubicon chambered 6gt with a lone peak action in a xlr chassis.

This thread hasn’t had a post since last year, nothing fancy but will add my RPR. Only got to take it to Angeles twice in two years and 600 yards was boring. Tried to sell but I ended up losing my wallet and ID and with no passport, with the DMV as crazy as it is I figured it was a sign for me to keep it.

I cerakoted it FDE and hope to find somewhere around LA where I can shoot 1000+ yards, even if I have to drive a distance.

Nice setup.
What stock is that? Also does it support a monopod?
I hear ya on the boringness of 600 yds. Theres a range in Piru that goes out to 1k. About an hour or so out from LA.

It’s the MDT stock, factory stock was pretty good for what it was but had some flimsiness to it. Went to a Magpul PRS which was a really good and solid stock but looked pretty plain on the RPR, just my personal opinion. MDT is solid and looks right on a RPR. I shoot at Angeles often, was just there today, I see you’re in LA too shoot me a PM if you want to try it out, you’re welcome to shoot my rifle and ammo.
The bottom of the stock has a mlok slot, I’m using the MDT bag rider but a mlok monopod can go there if needed.

That’s awesome of you to offer to shoot your rifle with your ammo in these times! But I too have an affinity for Fde RPRs

Totally agree about the flimsiness of the stock buttstock. It’s good for what it is but looking for something more solid and a bit more of a pleasing look than the magpul. Don’t get mad if I bite your style lol.

I will def PM you on my next trip out to talk shop and perhaps spot one another.
Btw have you checked out Piru shooting range? It’s the only 1k I know of that’s close

Default Precision/sniper rifle picture thread

From this

To this

Started life as a 1960s hand-tuned Remington 700 action in .308 mounted in a custom target stock with a Redfield Palma peep sight and multiple sight mounts along the barrel.

I moved it to a Daniel Defense chassis stock, plugged all the barrel and receiver side holes, and added a Precision Armament Picatinny rail that needed to be trimmed by one slot.

Here is a photo just after I removed the sight mounts.

What?s next? I?m looking for a LE sniper optic - first plane with a clean reticle. Any recommendations?
