I was preparing my statement along with attachments as proof. Should I not include these attachments in the original application? I only asked because I noticed on LASD site under qualifications it says documents supporting good cause should be brought to the interview.

Thank you

I'll force myself to watch it later, but I can just say, this is really dumb.

Unseating a sheriff in California is nigh impossible. AV only did it because a) he had a vowel at the end of his name and b) had support from some progressive groups (who may well regret it at this point, who knows).

The only one who could unseat him would be someone else backed strongly by the county's Democratic party machine. And that person would need to be thoroughly anti-2A.

There's only one candidate we should all support and that's AV.

For those saying, "yeah what about shall-issue", that just isn't the law here and that's not a politically viable position to take in LA. AV's position is the absolute limit of what could be politically viable here. So we need to support it.

As it’s official now that we can all apply directly through LASD, including those of us under LAPD jurisdiction I was wondering if anyone could answer this for me.

I have an interview next week scheduled (from early Feb) with LAPD. Do I go to the interview and then just apply with LASD anyway or would that show a duplicate in the system? I’d rather not wait for the denial. I’m thinking I should just skip it.

Also this may seem like a stupid question but are copies of birth certificates acceptable to mail in with application or are people actually sending originals? Mine is foreign and hard to replace.

Thank you all.

I don’t know what they have against AV, whether they live in LA or why they think a more openly pro 2A candidate would have a chance.

We tried. Bob Lindsey was pro 2A and CCW and he came in third in spite of a pretty heavy effort. The voters in L.A. are mostly idiots.

Default Documents

Do you have to send in the required documents with the application? The birth certificate, driver's license and utility or do they ask for it at the interview process?

Thanks in advance.

I sent just my application and all good cause supporting documents. I was instructed to bring the other items to the interview.

Would my employment at a university would cause a denial since its a gun free zone? In the application it list employers on section 7.

They shouldn’t matter.

You just can’t carry there.

I have a question for people who already finished training.
After finishing training and submitting paperwork to their email, how long did it take to get an email with the next step?

It's no problem but of course, you can't use anything connected to your employment (dangers at the university, or while traveling to or from the university) as your good cause. You'll want to make clear, during the interview, that you understand your university's policies (no guns allowed) and that you'll follow them. That would include in the parking lot, which means you also can't carry to / from work unless you've got some specific parking arrangements and can explain it.

Also wondering the same.

Been patiently waiting for a few weeks now. I understand they’re probably incredibly busy at this point. Just curious

3 1/2 weeks but I was approved way earlier. They are swamped.

Thanks! Given the newness of the whole process and the bureaucracy they’re probably dealing with that’s not bad at all.

That sounds promising. I daily ride a motorcycle so carrying from home to work wouldn't work for me.

I'm having trouble with application. Some pages require witness signature and badge number like section 8. Do I leave this section blank?

He's essentially going over the current state of LA CCW applications and procedures, what is good as good cause, required documents, including the latest development that application can happen directly with LASD instead of local PD first.
