Well, yes, but that one seems like it might be youthful.

Just guessing, the cat is around twice as long as the measured tree, so around 45".

Full grown, males are about 96", with 24-36 inches of that tail. That would make the body about 60 inches, so this kitty is around 3/4 of that size.

No, kitty, if you scratch the door, even ring the doorbell, you can't come in!

That's a big kitty. We've noticed the predators this year look really healthy too.

Default May be cool but…….

They will kill and eat things like livestock and pets. An animal this comfortable around human beings is likely to be a problem at some point.

This big kitty killed a deer a few streets over leaving blood/guts/drag marks in the middle of the street for sheepish neighbors to find. You don't walk in my neighborhood after dark without appropriate firepower!

The big cats around here don't mess around. We somewhat regularly see left over deer legs strewn about on the trails between the Thumb Butte parking area and Iron Springs Road.

I do a loop through Spence Basin on a mountain bike nearly every day at sunrise...hopefully the big kitties have bedded down for the night.

I’m glad we don’t have many cats in our neighborhood. These guys, though, are really a nuisance.

My wife posted the pic from the OP on NextDoor. Someone replied with their own pic of a big cat up a tree, just about five minutes from downtown. They’re out there.

While I love my rides through the Spence Creek Basin, I would not be doing it at sunrise.

The bear picture reminded me; for anyone in the Prescott that might need/want a bear proof trash bin. I have a brand new one that has never been used for sale. I thought I might need it, but bear sightings are rare in my part of Williamson Valley so want to get rid of it. PM me for more info.
