Are these the best maglock combos for an AR right now to make an AR CA compliant and if so, Gen1 or Gen3? Read in another thread Gen3 had questionable reliability. Can someone verify? |

If you go to armaglock.com and read the "law" section, it says that both DOJ and Michael and Assc. say its 100% legal.

I use Gen 4 w/ kingpin and red loctite on 2 builds. I'm debating on drilling out the sets crew as instructed on the package. Here is a good discussion on legality https://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/....php?t=1489327

Don't do a Maglok. From my experience as an active RSO, they don't allow you to quickly clear a jam and worse, you can only use 10 round mags. So a featureless gun can shoot rings arounds a Maglok because while you are reloading the featureless gun is still barking out rounds and probably sticks another 30 round mag in while you are still trying to reload. But if you insist on using one then my advice would be to not use their camed take down pin but use a regular straight take down pin. This will increase the reliability. I built one for the other RSO's to see what the issues were and how to solve them.

And that’s a load of <>%|€ because DOJ will never clearly state something is legal or not. Yeah...dirtbags.

The simple fact is, the mag can be removed with an allen wrench from outside the gun. It is no different than a bullet button in that regard, "use a tool". If you have nothing in this life to lose, then maybe it is the compliance device for you ![]() Last edited by SkyHawk; 01-24-2021 at 1:14 PM.. |

Simple solution, either JB weld over the alllen screw head or round out the allen screw head with a drill bit or some prefer to red loctite the threads.
