Ending up picking up a Redback One combat sling.

Its the best transition sling that I have ever used. No hang ups when going from strong to weak regardless of sling position. So much range of open and close. Allows for great versatility. Very quick. Super smooth. I just have to train my brain to use 2 grabs now versus 1.

Ideal for close quarter defensive positions when guarding the last chicken tendies in the fridge from thieving family members.

Everyone here seems to be focusing on synthetic material tactical slings. For hand stitched leather slings made in America from American leather, take a look at turnersaddlery.com. Got one on my mini-14, the quality is very good and well worth the $$.

A long time ago, 3 point slings used to be popular. I noticed that nearly everything out there today is a 2 point sling setup. What happened to 3 point slings to make them less desirable?

Blue Force Gear slings on everything I own, to facilitate high-speed tacticality and low-drag operationality across multiple weapon system platforms.

It was issued gear at one point. That’s how you know it sucked.

For reals? Apparently some of the latest 2 point slings are issued gear as well. Do those suck? Should we be going to single point slings again?

Depends on the application. For shotguns and AR's I prefer BFG Vickers Slings. For my .30-06 I have a Quake Claw. On my CZ 457 American I have a leather Montana sling.
