Default Is this a C&R pistol?

Good morning. I've looked at the BATFE list for this firearm, and do no see it listed by make/model. I'm wondering if it meets the "novel, rare, bizarre" definition. Trying to figure out if I can ship it to another CA resident via FFL. TIA for any help!

It’s newer. 2006 I believe. I know it’s not a relic.

Has to be 50 years or older. And no this doesn't fall under curio.

Not a C&R. Has to be 50 years old. To be a Curio it must be listed on federal list.

If it hasn't been done already, someone would have to send it to ATF for a specific determination.
If a determination has been made that it qualifies it will be on the list, then you are good to go. The latest on-line list seems to be 2018.
Otherwise, no.
You might check with the Colt Collectors Association and see if they know anything or direct you to another source.

It is like carrying water up hill but you can get a determination; per the ATF web site:
"Collectors wishing to obtain a determination whether a particular firearm qualifies for classification as a curio or relic may submit a written request for a determination to ATF’s Firearms Technology Branch. ATF’s classifications of curios and relics firearms are published in ATF Publication 5300.11."

I think you have to send the physical firearm too.

There are many commemorative Colts listed as curios, you’d have to find one on the ATF list, or find one 50 years old .

I always found it interesting that someone went to the trouble of submitting a few of these "modern"(though now about 30 years old) commemorative edition firearms to the BATF, then you realize it was likely the company that was making them.
The gold plated commemorative UZI carbine is a fun one, although it's status as an AW trumps it's C+R status for Californians.

They're listed by model and serial number, and serials are in the BATF C+R book so it's not difficult just a little time consuming to do the research.

Definitely rare (thank God), and bizarre. Imo, "getto" might be more like it.
