Default obtaining Guide license questions

hey guys

Im entertaining getting my guide license for fishing.

I read through the requires on F&G website and the main thing they want is a surety bond and articles of incorporation if I'm a corporation

has anyone obtained their guide license, how is the process? are they given out if I meet the requirements laid out in the application? or is it one of those things that they never issue out?

How long do they take to process?

I'm a little surprised someone hasn't chimed in on this OP. Bump it a few times, I know there are some guides that post here.

Buy made in USA whenever possible.

Buddy of mine used to guide in California. If you run a boat, you need a Coast Guard license/certificate too. He also said they won't deny you your guide license unless you have Fish & Game code violations.

I have my guide license for hunting , I dont think its different for fishing.
You will need your Bond and to fill out some questions. Send it all in with your money and they will send back your lisc. and guide book.

I have my guides license. The bond is cheap. You can get one through a insurance company. They won’t give you a guides license if you state you don’t have any experience or have fish and game convictions within the last ten years. That’s “convictions” not citations.

My suggestion is look into insurance very closely. Do not leave yourself open in any way. You will probably need numerous ryders to your policy. And it’s not about your clients suing you. It’s to protect you from their insurance. If they hurt themselves it’s 99.99% going to be their fault. However when they go to the hospital they will use their insurance and their insurance will in turn sue you and your insurance company. Dosent matter if they guy drops dead of a heart attack sitting in your boat. Insurance companies have lawyers on staff and they will automatically file the paperwork against you to mitigate the financial loss.
