The new RIA pistols have nicer, cleaner roll marks, right? I been seeing some online and the slides are pretty clean. I bought one in 2004 like the one above and it was junk. That said, I've heard from a lot of people the quality has improved. I never contacted RIA Customer Service, so I was at fault as well for not reaching out. Long story short, I might pick one up, lol. |

You said you were using for it carry. It's not advisable to do so for carry or self defense. In a pressure situation, there is high risk of jamming the mag into the pistol with enough force to cause over-insertion, and thus causing the ejector to bend or break, which causes a jam. -----------PICS: When you jam the mag in hard without a stopper, it can bend the ejector, like this: Here is an example of a stopper on an extended 9mm mag: This will prevent over-insertion. This mag is made by Wilson Combat. Tripp Cobra mags are also available with a stopper. Hope that helps. Last edited by caliberetta; 04-28-2019 at 2:51 AM.. |

.45 FS Ultra - my new truck gun.
Didn't care for the magwell flare, so I took it off. My pistols hafta work with ALL my mags. Need to add an extended slide stop yet, and I may upgrade with a spare SA bbl and Wilson bushing I have lying around. Much like AR's, 1911's are always a work in project. Ask me about my SA... "Mil-Spec"...

My RIA GI-CS .45 from the Roster, converted to 9mm, Changed Sights, trigger and grip.
------------------------------------------------------------------------- My RIA Rock Ultra 9mm, with a lot of work done to it: ------------------------------------------------------------------------- My RIA/ARMSCOR MS-PS .45. Before and after pics. It sat in a box and unsold for 7 years. I bought it for $288. Then I had a lot of work done to it: ------------------------------------------------------------------------- My Armscor/RIA GI-FS-HC 9mm. Also sat in a box unpurchased for several years. I bought it for $308. I just changed out the sights, otherwise stock. Maybe I'll change out a few things on it sometime, and use it for IPSC matches: ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This RIA 9mm FS-HC is not mine. It is a range rental at ARMSCOR Shooting Range in Makati, Philippines. It is the most rented pistol at the ARMSCOR Range and has been in service for well over 10 years. 200 rounds in one day is a quiet day for this rental, which is shot all day long by Chinese Tourists, who sometimes arrive in tourist buses and take turns shooting it for hours. Everyday, 7 days a week. It is bone stock and replaced occasionally with stock parts. It has over well over 1 million rounds through it: Last edited by caliberetta; 04-08-2019 at 2:06 PM.. |
