Default STI demo day at LAPD Academy

Finally got my hands on live firing some Staccaco Ps, Cs and DVCs, with Dawsons and RDSs...

Compacts: quite spappy, a little better than the EMP 4s I've shot before.

Duty: not as impressed as I thought, couldn't feel any major reduction in felt recoil but ran and ran.

DVC: Sweet 3.5 lb trigger and it just ran and ran and begged to be run some more, till they remind me that they are running out of Winchester White Box.

Kudos to LAPD for putting on such a fine event!

Wow...I think the DVC-L was just approved for Metro? A LAPD friend/awesome instructor recomends STIs. Wish I could have gone!

I was there too. You’re right, that DVC carry was something else. I’m making calls now to find one. Their expensive, but worth every penny. I’ll let you know if I’m able to find one. Stay safe brother

Thanks JPS3B for the pics!

I was a little distracted from the full auto blasts and flying brass from the B&T folks.....forgot to mention that Sig was there with their MCX Rattler, which I didn't get to try. Lots of new stuff, like the large size X-5 grip module and upgrader Romeo ones are coming Sig fans.....

Default STI demo day at LAPD Academy

For sure men. There was a gentleman there who is a dealer for STI. I called him yesterday and ordered a STI DVC Carry double stack and a Sig P365 for my father who is retired LASD Homicide. It was a very easy process and the prices are extremely competitive. Let me know if you want his info.

I was at the Corona range today shooting my SP5K for the first time. I’ve had it 3 years.

Here are my last three purchases

I was able to see and inspect the duty variant. Quite unlike any other pistol I've seen and lots of curb appeal. Build quality appears to be off the charts.

Yikes... the DVC C is double the cost of the Stacatto C?!

Nice pics; looks like a fun time!

Nice! I was at the same event. Loved them all but the DVC stood out. Might be selling my TRP early

The STI Stack-A-Toe is on my short list. The only thing(s) holding me back are the price and, more importantly, the crappy reliability which can mostly be attributed to the 2011 double-stack magazine. LOVE the 2011 concept but if the gun can't be trusted to cycle reliably its merely a range toy.

For those that shot these STI's, what made the DVC-C worth a thousand more than the Staccato-P? I compared them today, and just couldn't justify the extra grand. But I didn't get to shoot them side by side.

I completely agree with you Sir regarding reliability. After my first hundred rounds through my DVC C, I had one FTE and twice my slide failed to rack open. After that, I’ve had no issues and I have approximately 1500 rounds down range. So maybe I’m lucky and got a good gun/magazines, or maybe they addressed the issues and fixed them. I can tell you that I really love the gun. It’s shoots very true and it’s just beautiful in my hand. Good luck...

I’ve posted this pic before but this was at 10-15 yards. A little to the left, but that seems normal for me.

Anyone care to share their experiences with the STI Staccaco P? Also with a Sig P365 XL.

Any feedback is appreciated.
