Default Bolt action semi-auto?

I have never seen this type of action before.
The bolt action mode seems to make more sense suppressed.
And maybe with shorts (if it will feed them).

The Walther #1 carbine in 22lr also has the same type of action, they might even be from the same era, pre WWII I believe.

Indeed. Very similar to the Beretta. Suddenly, they are everywhere

Sweet rifle. Don't know when the vid was made, but J&G no longer has stock. Gunbroker has no listings. Gunbroker does have some mags. Not cheap, but not through the roof.

Someone needs to kick them in the stones for letting a rifle fall from a bench and get buggered up though.

Steve McQueen's Stevens/Springfield 87A

Stevens/Savage used to make tube fed .22 LR/L/S that functioned as semi-auto/bolt/single shot.
Known as a Gill Gun or Click Clack rifle, it was made as Savage Model 6A, Stevens 87A or Springfield 87A (there were a few other model designations). It is well liked rifle, I had Stevens 87A, my son now has it, very accurate with diopter iron sights and fun to shoot.

Nice little rifles. My kids have one in mag fed, and one in tube fed. I had both drilled/tapped for period Weaver side mounts. They shoot CCI std velocity lights out. Even better than R50 or Lapua mid grade. They're not pretty like the photo, but well-used and still going strong.
The Beretta is nice with the heavier barrel profile, it would be a cool addition to a collection.
