Getting pictures to display

I'm trying to guide another calgunner (over the phone) in how to get his pictures to display in the post and not just be an attachment.

He has gone in to the advanced editing section and the two rows of icons highlighted in the red square of the below picture aren't displayed.

He doesn't see the paperclip icon, so he can't insert the image.

EDIT: For those of you that are suggesting to uses an image hosting serve (yes, I know how easy it is) he's not interested in using one.

The easiest way to do this especially here is to get a free imgur account

https://imgur.com/

set up your free account, upload the images you want to save, just drag and drop them into the imgur window. Once they are in you library there, select the picture you want to post. Then on the right side there are options for the link type.

Select a size you want usually big is fine, select BBcode or Linked BBCode, that automatically copies the link, paste the link in the post your making and it will look like this: img]https://i.imgur.com/AJ3lPjGl.jpg[/img but with brackets on each end. The result is:

[BOBGBA]

Yes we know all that. This user doesn't want to open any other account and prefers to do it the way as originally asked.

I actually use both methods.

Sound like he may be trying to post from his phone.

I don't do that; and when I do read from my phone, I do not use Tapatalk or anything else, just Safari

And I use "Calguns 1.0", which one can set by scrolling all the way down to the last blue bar, left edge.

He said he was doing it on his laptop. I asked when was the last time he shut down the laptop and his answer was last night and that he had just turned it on before we stated our discussion.

It's pretty simple as Dave has already said, you basically go to Imgur and once you've created a free account you then drag and drop the pic and copy and paste the "BBcodeforum" link and paste it in your text when you are going to post and bam it pops up

Suggest trying another browser? It is possible user has something blocking those from showing (ad blocker, anti-tracker, etc.) Could also be related to an anti virus program.

Have user try to use a browser on a mobile device: log in and attempt to post, but switch to Normal mode at bottom left of the screen after logging in.
