Just in time for next year.
A few months ago I got some Ginex SPP after some testing, 7c delivered. Not sure how each size will work but that one is good to go. Some other sizes will be tight or not reliable. We need to start a list.

I just came from Sportsman’s Warehouse where I bought CCI SRP for 5.54c. The only problem was they’re limiting purchases to 200. They also had quite a bit of powder on on hand this morning.

Just came back from a shoot in Nevada. Made a stop @ the Mark - Fore & Strike Gun shop on Kietzke Ln. in Reno. Went up to the Clerk and asked if they had primers. He gleefully said they primers in stock and quoted me $200.00 per K.

I smiled and walked away.

It's not over.

Tabasco,

I took advantage as well. Purchased some Ginex SPP and LPP for the 7 cents delivered. Also bought 5k Ginex LRP for 10 cents delivered. Ginex LRP now more expensive. Seems SRP are the most abundant as far as CCI or WIN but still 9 to 10 cents per 1k.

That's because you went to a small mom-and-pop store. You know their cheaper elsewhere.

I'm still working on my sub-.2? primers that I stocked up on when Winchester had their 20% rebate several years ago. Probably have about 20K left so they should last until prices get far below the arm-and-leg price.

My local gun store had CCI for $100 1k on the shelf and surprisingly CCI LPP which I haven't seen anywhere for a while. Seeing them at all locally is a new thing so hopefully they will start coming down to a "reasonable" price.

The question still remains, who is banking the extra cash if manufacturers say they are only raising prices 7-10 percent

Reloading Unlimited has CCI spp on sale for $67.99/1000. I put 10,000 in the cart to check, 7.4 cents delivered with shipping and hazmat fee. Not terrible.

How about 6.1 cents for CCI?

Came out to 7.6 cents per with hazmat and shipping for 5000 for me.

I figure that will last me until the next drop in price.

Servicios is practice only for me. 320 can light cci400 srp 100% so i place the blame on servicios. Get 1-2 light strikes per brick

Ginex spp has been 100%

I picked up some Fiocchi and it?s been 100% but I don’t think that’s an “off brand”

I’m hoping federal will come back to $50/k or below.

I don't consider Genix an "off-brand" either...they're just a new player in the market. I can see some folks not liking them because they are "metric" primers...but .001" doesn't make much difference if you're priming correctly

Ginex has replaced CCI in my inventory.

It's important to remember to include the HazMat and Shipping cost when comparing the price you're paying.

I got my last 10k Genix SPP at $67/k shipped to my door

Sportsman's Warehouse had Remington, Federal, Fiocchi, and CCI small pistol primers for $5.70/hundred. The bummer is they limit you to 200....... so bring a friend.

I loved that about Sportsmans Warehouse. Even in lean times they don?t fleece the customers by jacking up prices like the other bog box stores and LGSs. I know the mom and pop FUD stores don?t want bare shelves and SW doesn?t care but not at the expense of their customers.

From what I see, regardless of price, pistol primers are abundant. My Turners has stacks of them and no buyers. Large rifle primers are a different story. The same Turners did have CCI LRP (magnums only) and a guy front of me bought the entire inventory. I just want 200 non-magnums and its still impossible, so far. I also need Rem #11 or RWS 1075s and still no stock anywhere. Point being, with SPP coming out now in droves maybe there is hope for other primers.

Where definitely on the backside gaining momentum.

Online lots of inventory and small incentives, just wait for the inventory to build, just like the truck market.

Here you are buy 2 cases for no hazmat. That's as close as your going to get unless you live by a Sportsmans and you can go in a few times a day or bring a friend.

I'm still seeing .09 - .12 cents per primer on mail order and while the 'local' Sportsman's had primers on the counter last week, there just weren't enough to stop and worry about.

Insofar as becoming more readily available again, that still looks like it's gonna take some time, even if things have gotten 'better' compared to what they've been. When it comes to a 'good price,' that becomes relative to what you're used to vs. what you feel you can afford. For me, given that the price is still 'averaging' two or three times what used to be standard, I'm just glad I still have a stockpile to work from.

Depends on the proximity of SW to you. I happened to pass by one three times this week, and one of those times was with someone else. 800 more Remington SP primers in the house.

Then you will likely never buy another primer. Unless of course you are buying by the pallet load and the manufacturer is clearing inventory. So... never say never.
