Default Springfield M2 Feeding Problem...FIXED

Springfield M2 Feeding Problem

It has been sitting in a safe since the late 90s and not fired since bought used

the cartridge is not at the right angle to go in the chamber and gets jammed up..I tried another bolt and it works fine..I studied the difference and saw that the cartridge is not sliding under the extractor and all the way on the bolt face ...its too tight to slide onto the face with normal operation...it will go in if I push it in ..I see no debris and i did cleen off the face and put light oil on everything and I worked the extractor back and forth...its still tight
I did not take the bolt apart since I did not see a video on it

the bolt # does match the receiver

any solution?

Try removing the ejector and see if that changes how the cartridge rim slides up the bolt face and allows the rim to seat under the extractor.
If that does not do anything, then carefully clearance the hook of the extractor to make it easier for the cartridge to move up.
Determine if the lip is too tight to the bolt face or if the hook is too tight to the cartridge forward of the rim.
It's important that you don't cut the wrong place.
If you have that other bolt, start by swapping in the individual parts from it one by one before you cut anything.
If you can narrow it down to specifically the extractor or ejector, then compare the one that works with the one that does not work and adjust accordingly.

Yeah I just got it working by comparing it to other M2s that work fine...the extractor was slightly different shaped..a little dremel work and Bingo...got it working
