Ok, I get it. I have my opinions based on my career and you have yours. I'll refer back to having worked for a department who backs their employees 100% when they were right and squashed them like a rotten grape when they were wrong.

I'll leave you folks to your own thoughts on this topic.

He better hope that another LA Riot does not happen. There will be no cops to protect anyone. It will be like the Armed Koreans of Korea Town, but 10x far worst. No Choice but to protect their family and Property. It will be a blood bath because our Great People in the Police Departments will be unable to protect anyone. He will feel the ultimate judgment from the people for his failure.

Maybe you've missed my point, Yzernie. It has nothing to do with department support. My department is very supportive. It's about case law that don't help us.

Agreed. My department backs us a ton. We are still allowed to do actual policework unlike many.

Iíd also say itís also public opinion. That weighs heavy on politicians and they start to lean heavily on LEAs. If someone is going to be used as an example, thereís little to stop it.
