....probably should pull this thing back out and finish it one of these days, since this was about the last time I messed with it and it's still in pieces in a bag in the safe, with the rust blue supplies in a drawer by the bed!

Damn, Spyder! Nice one to add to the collection. Say is your work hiring? I can’t afford that kind of buying, haha.

We're hiring! 😁

Went out to the Mojave this morning. It was 72 degrees around noon with a little breeze.
The road is no longer block from CalTrans road work, still not sure what they did.

I'm liking the LEVERevolution powder for the 30-30. I took a shot with the PA10 without ear protection..I wont do that again

The new to me made in 1956 Chinese SKS is fun as hec to shoot. I wish I would have bought a crate of these back in the 80s.

Took my CSBL out for some 25 yard shooting today. Still very fun with the little Vortex red dot on it.

I think I'm going to take some time in October and load up a bunch of barely subsonic 180 grainers in 357 brass, instead of the lighter bullets in 38 brass I've been doing. Anecdotal reading says it'll be more accurate, which means more fun.

The new-to-me 44 Mag Marlin needs a tuneup. It shot great the first day, and then I tried running semi wadcutters and it jammed up, now it jams on everything. Set it aside and haven't messed with it since, as I've been too busy working and hunting.

I'm going to take my 1895SS as my backup deer rifle on my Oregon muley hunt, too. Hell, may take it as primary for the first day or two, for fun!

Spyder,
Odd that it suddenly jams on everything. That happened to me once when I had a loose lever screw. Nothing fed right. Amazing that something so small could have that big an effect. Let us know your solution.

Golf,
I have been looking at the SKS for a while now. There have been some very attractive deals lately. But settled on the "new" Marlin 94S.

Where did you get yours?

Duece, it seems to pop one round out of the mag on to the lifter, and let the next one come out just enough to jam everything up.
Could be the classic Marlin jam, could be something simpler hopefully. I'll mess with it after deer season.

Duece, I grabbed one of the $299 Classic SKS's a month or so ago. Great deal!

Its new to me, its a fun gun and easy to work on. I bought a Mosin Nagant about 5 years ago from Turners (7.62×54R) that gun was built in 1939 and looks beautiful. I also managed to secure a crate of ammo for it

I've been kicking around the idea of getting a Ruger Mini 30 but I think I'd rather buy another SKS ( some nice ones in the market place guys) I'd like to see some decent prices on this ammo at gun shows
