Talking OC Gunsmith Custom Ruger MK II

Okay...check this out...

So, I wanted to get me a custom 22LR pistol which I could use for NRA Bullseye competitions. My options were:
  1. Buy somebody else's used bullseye gun which was built to their specs...
  2. Buy a new bullseye gun specifically made for the purpose, like a Volquartsen Olympic ( or a S&W Performance Center Model 41 (, or...
  3. Have a talented gunsmith customize a factory pistol for me using competition-grade their own ingenuity...

So, I decided to have one made for me and my shooting preferences. So, I acquired a used, excellent condition stainless steel Ruger MK II (with no stupid CA/NY/MA-compliance parts), and then acquired some parts slowly but surely, and contracted a skilled gunsmith (Mark Bunach - to do the work.

Besides the gunsmithing, I also had Mr. Bunach thread the pistol; then, design and install a custom-machined compensator. Here is what he created for me:

Check that out! I did a lot of research to find a gunsmith who specialized in making custom 22LR pistols built on the Ruger MK-platform. There aren't as many as you think. The ones who are out there either have a ridiculous backlog, aren't accepting any more work, or charge brain-dead stupid prices. Well, Mr. Bunach was easy to work with, had a pretty good turnaround time, and handed back to me a one-of-a-kind pistol. I'm extremely pleased! I can't wait to take that gun to the range.

Let me know what you think, CalGunners! Cheers! --1911ShooterPhil

Looks like it'll be a lot of fun to shoot. Looking forward to the range report.

Looks real nice!
