Default SIG 716 HB or Daniel Defense DD5V1 or POF 308

I am vacillating between one of these. I don't have a .308 AR. Looking at Pre-Owned.

Not looking at 1000 yd shooting. Plan on putting a Vortex Razor Gen1 1-6 power.

Budget no more than $1,700.

Which is the better one for general purpose?

I would say the Sig or the POF, if you want to see a Sig 716 I have one here I don't have a POF for a Daniel Defense though but the 716 is awesome and the POF is also very very cool

I am an FFL in Rancho Cucamonga, vist us at https://www.2azone.com

DD has a proprietary ambition mag release. They will not sell you one if the rifle has a bullet button on it. I had to have someone in another state send one to me so I could replace it. Also the upper uses a ball detent on the charging handle and no cut out on the upper for a latch. If you dont like the charging handle then too bad for you. My charging handle sometimes pops back and hits me in the face while firing. Stupid ball detent!

The Sig 716 Patrol that I have also has a lot of proprietary upper parts that makes swapping AR10 parts impossible. To me the value is only the registered AW lower.

There are likely very few interchangeable parts among ARs-that-shoots-.308. There's only 1 AR-10 and all the rest are proprietary to some degree, and you certainly can't expect piston guns like the SIG 716 to be able to use DI parts.

The only POF 308 I've shot was a first gen 14.5" with a pin/weld done on it and I was very impressed with it.
It out shot all my semi-auto 308 rifles except for my KelTec RFB. Long barrel advantage.

That POF ran all kinds of ammo without a hick up.

I have 3 POF 415 uppers and the accuracy/reliability is very very good.

So give yourself a high 5 for this choice.

Thanks.

This what happens when you have a scope sitting around that needs a rifle. Knowing full well that selling the scope would be a financial loss.

I had a Pof. The chamber was too short and the rounds would jam into the lands.

Pof said it was my Ammo. BS.

Also the gas system is another moment arm on the barrel. Other than that I imagine they will work fine if the chamber is reamed correctly.

I went Lmt Mws but I prefer my Cetme/G3 hybrid. Mags are $5.00
