Default Adding a weapon to my CCW....time line?

I'm picking up a Seecamp in a couple days. I'll be adding it to my CCW. I searched but don't see anything on how long I should expect it to take before it's officially added and I can carry it.

Guys? Who's added a pistol lately and how long did it take?

Since I have 6 on there now...will they need to reissue the card or just the paper version?

Assuming it’s for an OC CCW (Costa Mesa as your location), once you qualify, it took me about a week to pick up.

They will reissue both and take a new picture.

I just did an amendment. I added and removed. Took about a week. They don't collect your paper version (though I did bring it just incase) but do collect your old card. As mentioned, they take a new picture. I also added a seecamp.

Sent in paperwork on 8/15, 8/20 I got a new email to pickup.

As of today, you have to make an appointment to pick up your ccw, no more showing up when you can.

Great news....I'm doing a road trip on the 19th. Picking up the new pistol on the 5th and was hoping to take it with. That's cutting it close but should be do-able.

Thanks guys!

When I added one last year they turned it around in 1 day. Couldn’t believe how quick they were.

Depends on your IA, I just added a firearm to my CCW on Thursday. I walked in, no appointment, signed in, filled out a CCW form to add/delete a firearm, took less then a minute to fill out, turned it in, paid $10.00.

They called my name, went back into their admin area, turned in my old CCW, they deleted and added the new firearm, printed it out, I signed to confirm correctness, they did their thing, handed me the new updated one, out the door I went.

Whole process took like maybe 35-40 minutes cause there were people ahead of me. Hope that helps...

I added one to my OCSD permit in July.
I submitted the info with the certification on Friday morning, they said it would be available on Monday (but I was traveling overseas).
If you already have 5 on your permit, then let them know which one you want to have on the paper permit. Otherwise they will bump the new one to the paper permit.
According to a friend of mine, OCSD CCW unit is short-staffed at the moment, so it may take a little longer.
Kudos to OCSD and the team there, they are (IMHO) doing an outstanding job.
Just remember when you go pick up not to take any bags in with you.

Sorry, I'm confused here.
Don't you have to "qualify" (shooting requirement) with each gun on your CCW list?

You do have to get range tested.
If you go to On Target, call ahead and find out when the person who certifies it ia going to be there. I went late afternoon, and the person who certifies wasn't there, so I had to go back the next morning to get it signed off.

Yes, you do. I'm picking up the gun tomorrow. I'll qualify Friday or Saturday and then the rest is up to the OCSD.

It's only 20 rounds on a add-on qualifier.

Boom, boom....you're done

Sign off your certificate and send it in.
