Having lived here for a few months, I have packed just about everywhere on the strip that didn't have metal detectors, Fremont Street (Showed my CCW, LVMPD checked it, had me walk around detectors), and a couple of neighborhood casinos.
I haven't had any issues, haven't been approached by security or LVMPD. Been up to Pahrump a few times, no one said anything there either. I have a feeling if your low key and blending in, no one bothers you. I have a neighbor that works Security on the strip, they have been told if they see a guest with one, or get a complaint, they have to ask them to leave or if they are a guest staying in the hotel, secure it there with Security. Be low key, blend in, no one will know any better.

Also, if you carry a gun into a casino, I promise their cameras will detect it before you get within 20 yards of their property.
I don't have a CCW for any State. But I'm surprised at people who do are uninformed or misinformed. If was getting a CCW, my first priority would be to understand which stated reciprocate (validate) it. Arizona CWP is Valid in NV state. Casinos may have their own policy. Unless prohibited clearly, nothing to worry.

The problem is states don't make it easy to find that info; Colorado is a fine example. The PRK is easy, we don't recognize any permits. Is my AZ non-resident (the permit makes no delineation) valid in TX? The last time I looked, USCCA still shows ND as accepting the AZ permit; it no longer does. I think they purposely make reciprocity confusing. We were in WA so I got that permit and the next time I may be in OR I'll get that one too, that will cover the left coast. I'd like to get the ID enhanced, but I have no idea if/when we'll be there.

Get your AZ. It's good in NV.

NV laws requires NV approved CCW training, in order to obtain a NV CCW permit.

There are no exemptions for honorable discharged members of the Military.

I guess then the casino is taking responsibility for my safety.

I wonder if those hotels are still screening large vehicles? Last time I stayed at the Luxor in 2000, they were "inspecting" pickup trucks with camper shells, cargo vans and box trucks. When they looked thru my truck, I asked why and they said it was due to the 1995 OKC terror attack.

I was in Las Vegas last week and went to the Rio for a party in one of the penthouse rooms.

The elevator bank had security guards posted at it and they required people to go through a "weapons detector" to get to the elevators.

The detector did not pick up the three knives and the one handgun, I was legally conceal carrying.

The elevator required a room key to work.

During my week long stay in Las Vegas, I stayed at the Horseshoe, formerly known as Bally's, a Caesars Entertainment property.

All Caesars Entertainment properties have their standard no weapons allowed corporate policy as a CYA in case of an incident involving weapons occurs on their property.
^Concealed means concealed. If they don't know about, then they won't do anything about it.

There were no metal/weapon detectors at the Horseshoe, Flamingo, Linq, Harrahs, Caesars Palace, and the Caesars Forums convention center.
^I legally conceal carried weapons (handgun, knives) at all these locations.

Caesars Entertainment Security Department has a Special Response Team (SRT) that actively patrols their property during conventions/concerts/events.
They wear green BDU pants, tan combat shirts, and FDE plate carriers that have SRT patches.
They are typically armed with a semi-auto pistol (mostly Glock 17Gen5 MOS, Glock 45 MOS, and SIG P320) with 4+ spare magazines and an AR15 type rifle (appeared to be all Daniel Defense M4A1 with an EoTech and Surefire M300 weapons light) with 2 spare magazines.
They all carry a personal trauma kit and multiple tourniquets.
They are mostly former combat arms Military or LE and their starting pay is $25/hour.
They also have bomb sniffing dogs, which patrols at night through their convention spaces when a convention/concert/event is occurring.
They patrol in pairs or in quads without their rifles and when responding to a call for aid, they move in quads with their rifles.

During my time in Las Vegas, there was a bomb threat/scare at the Caesars Forums convention center.
Started with an anonymous call to Caesars Security of a bomb threat.
Then the Caesars SRT bomb dog alerted to a suspicious package found in the convention center.
Caesars SRT went full deployment mode.
Caesars Forums convention center was evacuated.
LVMPD and LVFRD responded.
LVMPD Homeland Security Department determined the suspicious package was not a bomb and concluded the dogs were alerted to the package due to chemical residues on shirts in the package.

Sorry to revive this thread, but planning on going to Vegas with my wife and will be staying at our usual Vdara resort (don't gamble or do casino). Also will be going through Cesars for Bacchanal. Did thought about Wynn, but already read through this whole thread that there's heightened security there so that's a pass.

Wont be anywhere along the strip more off the strip and yes I have a AZ non-res permit. No I won't call, discuss, mention nor ask any questions to any staffs or check in about CCW.

Thanks in advance,
Dara

FYI.
Today, 09-11-23, MGM Resorts made an announcement that all of their properties are experiencing a cybersecurity issue.

As of 1800 hours, all of the slot machines and ATM/kiosks on all of their properties are off line.
No tickets/vouchers can be redeemed, because the validation system may have been compromised, cash outs are being verified and processed by hand.

Their hotel registration system is also off line and you will need to call them in order to make or confirm your registration.

It appears their secure system was breeched, which prompted them to take everything off line.
It is unknown if another data loss (customer info, accounts, credit card info, etc) has also occurred.

MGM Resorts properties in Las Vegas:
Aria
Bellagio
The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas
Delano Las Vegas
Excalibur
Luxor
Mandalay Bay
MGM Grand Las Vegas
New York-New York
NoMad Las Vegas
Park MGM
Vdara

Thanks for this.. hopefully there isn't any data loss and effecting anyone. I won't be going there til 3-4 months or so.

Vdara is just one of those I'm curious if there are any wanding before taking the elevators up.

Another off topic thing about Vegas. There was a story about most hotels having bed bugs, so becareful where you stay. It's high end places too.
