Welcome to the forum, Strongside Holsters - but really, a one-time straightforward 'we make holsters' post would have been fine.

Default CCW - Do you need a Gun Belt?

Howdy:

A resounding YES, you should purchase a belt that can't be twisted like a pretzel! Why, an everyday belt will allow your holster to hang outward from your body because it flexes, your quality holster will shift its position constantly violating the needs of discretion and comfort.

Recently I spent considerable time online seeking a quality Gun belt at a reasonable price. I sought a Gun belt website that was easy to negotiate with "kiss" ordering instructions plus belts that looked great. I also read many many website testimonials. Since I wear blue jeans quite a bit, I wanted a BLUE Gun belt. My color request culled most Gun belt website custom manufacturers except http://www.abetterbeltusa.com/ultimate-gun-belt/. This manufacturer's website/belt/quality/color met my criteria,

Owner Mike Pillsbury answered my phone call (281-414-1110). Mike said he could dye a 1.5" belt for me BUT he would send me a 5" belt sample prior to manufacturing one for me. I was impressed and when I received the sample (wow) I called Mike with the go ahead on my belt.

I've been wearing my Blue belt for some time and it meets all my requirements for CCW carry purposes. I usually wear a Blue Colehaan belt with jeans thus it was easy for me to compare it to my A Better Belt USA. THERE "AIN'T" NO COMPARISON! Mike's belt is stiff yet very comfortable. Both my IWB/OWB holsters stay put, feel comfortable especially since my CCW firearms remain close to my body.

I showed my Blue belt to a fellow Villa Park (CA) Rotarian, a General Contractor who is leather knowledgeable. He too was impressed thus ordered a belt from Mike. He's in the OCSD CCW seeking process but wants to wear his belt NOW since it's so good looking. It's a fashion statement for him now, a CCW quality leather platform in the near future. Oh, his purchase was also motivated since he picked up his Kahr P380 after residing in an Orange Turners "jail" for 10 days. Upon my recommendation, he also purchased an ( http://www.gungloveholsters.com/) IWB Tuckable Holster from Tom Allen. Quality and a reasonable priced holster I use carrying my Kahr PM9/P380s. He liked the Kahr P380 better than my Glock 42!

New holster for the 1911 checking in
We have released our new 1911 Universal Accessory Fit holster that we feel is huge a leap forward in holster technology.

http://www.recovertactical.com/shops...lster-for-1911
  • Patent pending Frame Locking System - Available in Active or Passive Retention (details below)
  • Maintains natural draw while still allowing virtually any accessory to be mounted
  • Holster will only work with the ReCover Tactical 1911 CC3 H Grip and Rail System installed
  • Active push button retention that encourages proper finger placement that will work with or without the accessory attached
  • Compatible with virtually all rail mounted accessories

  • Same holster is compatible with virtually any rail mounted accessory on the market
  • The Active Retention will lock with or without an accessory mounted to the rail

The holster is available with either Passive Retention or Active Retention - What is the difference between Active and Passive Retention? Active Retention requires the pressing of the button on the side of the holster to "unlock" the gun from the holster. Passive Retention holds the gun in place and will allow you to draw the firearm simply by pulling with a little extra force. Will work on Commander and Full Sized 1911's that have the ReCover CC3H mounted.

More info here -

I recently bought an leather IWB for my P345 from Masc,(they are in Turkey) great leather work and fit, you should plan on buying a steel belt clip to replace the flimsy plastic one that they use.

Does anyone know weather the XD45 4 inch service model will fit the Glock 19 surpa holster ? I know that the Glock 21 & the XD45 4" are about the exact same size. Accept for a few small things here and there but If any one owns a glock 19 , XD45 & a glock 19 surpa holster coulevel you check for me . I don't want to buy it and find out it won't fit an have to go through the hassle of shipping it back and all that

In San Antonio for work and walked into On Your 6 Designs where they made my kydex holster for me while I waited. Great product and even better price. Couldn't be happier with their workmanship and the guys in there are great. Price was $35 and it came out excellent...

Bravo Concealment was mentioned earlier. I have a few of their holsters and they are top notch. Plus their customer service is hands down the best I've ever come across. They respond quickly to any emails you send and will handle any mistakes and repairs in a timely manner. Highly recommend them.
