got new (first timer for me) tablet and I guess its suppose to be able to make phone calls so even if don't really plan on using as such I guess its a no brainer to at least get it going with phone and mostly DATA over 4G or 5G or whatever.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B098DSMTHY...t_details&th=1
Heard some ad on Alex Jones and KGO about various supposedly "non tracking" and cheap. Got Mint on phone with "unlimited data" but turns out thats only like 5Gigs of data if using with laptop. (don't remember reading that in agreement, might sue in Small Claims since I pre-paid year). Also, seems like my "unlimited" phone wont download off Youtube without youtube "plan" from youtube. |

$6 month for backup phone sounds nice.
But any phone plans with TRUE "unlimited data" like when I link to laptop? Also, thinking of extra phone with cheap plan but SOME data to use as both back up but also CAR TRACKER hidden in bowels of car somewhere in case it gets stolen (again). |

Used to have Cricket wireless for three years, decent. But, switched Mint mobile and noticed a difference in audio clarity compared to Cricket. After one year of prepaid usage, I've renewed again for another year. Very happy with Mint and hope their service remains. Oh, I'm on their lowest data plan since I don't use much outside of home.

Mint. Unfortunately it uses T-Mobile network. Not good in rural areas, where I am 1/2 the time or difficult reception areas, i.e. a marina with 50' sailboat masts interfering with signal.
On a year plan, less than $200/yr. for unlimited talk/text and 4gb of high speed data. Great for backup phone. Plus+ can switch chips if my Verizon phone goes down. That was not a prior option with the networks. Cheap price, can use wifi to where cell signal poor, can use as hotspot for tablet/laptop where signal is strong, and did I say cheap? Negative- aforementioned signal stinks. And why would Ryan Reynolds be involved in any company whose corporate color scheme would remind one of 'Green Lantern'?

Had an old base model Radio Shack flip phone and it got great connection in concrete etc when boss's $1000+ latest Apple was lacking and dropping. They tell me that is because all that fancy stuff conflicts and fights each other, and even having a big screen making weird E-fields etc. |

Throw a kegger / BBQ and invite all your friends (at the location where you want a phone to work).
During the festivities, interrogate your guests to determine who has the best connectivity from your location. It couldn't get much easier... ********************************* You might think I'm joking here, but it's a sure way to find the best cell access from your property. I've found that moving 980 feet takes me from 1 or 2 bars all the way up to a full strength 5 bars. It all depends on your provider and the location from which you wish to operate. If you do your homework, you can find a provider that meets your needs in most locations.

If you get added to anyone's party pay (not hard to do) then monthly service drops down to $25.00 per month. |

I’ve been using Ting for years now. You can get different sims to match whatever back end carrier works best in your area. Two phones runs me 40-50 bucks a month. It’s tiered so the more data you use the more you pay.

Our family is on visible, we've got 4 lines and paying $25 a month per line. Runs on Verizon towers and is unlimited. We had it for several years and have run into zero issues. Can't do much better than that if unlimited data is needed.

Not a single mention of Google Fi? Is it because Google is evil (and I am being serious, not joking) or because the service isn't good?
