I do not have a preferred range right now. I usually go to Magnum in Rancho Cucamonga. I can and will travel for classes/training.

Serious and honest question.

Never having served in the military myself, I trust the advice and first hand experience from a veteran or active duty warrior.

Some twenty odd years ago when I worked in Irvine, I had a conversation with an active duty Marine stationed at El Toro MCAS. The conversation was about AR's, and he informed me that he was taught not to rest your weapon on the magazine during live fire.

I committed that piece of information to memory and have always followed that advice.

When I shoot prone I usually shoot off a bag, and other times I'll use a stand or bipod. Either way I'm always careful to not bear weight on the mag.

Does it really matter?

I know, I can answer the question myself by just doing it and see the result.

Just wondering about the opinion of someone who has first hand high volume trigger time and experience.

BTW, welcome to the forum.
