I have one of the 2" extended mounts that you make. Another person in my rifle club also has one. It seems that both of our mounts have a problem with the screws backing out.
The screws that back out are the screws that hold the rings tight on the scope tube. Is this a known problem? Can you tell me what the recommended torque is for the screws? I was using 20 in lbs with a Fat Wrench, but had seen that 15 in lbs. was recommended for the screws that hold the mount on the picatiny. You use very tiny screws on the mount, possibly the smallest I've seen on a mount. Can you provide the recommended torque for the screws? Your site says 15 in lbs. EDIT: I really don't want to put loctite on my scope mount. That just seems wrong. How do others deal with this problem?

I know you don't want to use loctite but the instructions I've read/seen suggest a small amount of medium strength loctite is recommended. Even the instructions provided by Aero suggests using loctite. Also, you can torque up to 25 in/lbs.

![]() Aero's support on this forum is not very good. Thanks for your reply. Blue won't come loose without heat normally, but before I use purple I need to check that out. I have another Primary Arms mount I may just use and sell the Aero Precision. The AP mount also gets in the way with the Calway brass catcher that mounts on the picatiny rail.

I just torque to what the manufacture recommends... doing that I've never needed loc tite on any scope mounting fasteners, and I've gone though a fair share of different rings, mounts, and brands.
I also index mark most of my stuff with a paint pen to I can spot check and make sure over time.
