And if naming is a hangup, I say change up the name and call it whatever!

Here's hoping to the rebirth of the ACR!!!

It needs a different barrel profile too, or a choice of different bbl profiles. Completely agree it needs a user replaceable pistol grip as well, and Id put an a2 grip on mine if I could because im an old school weirdo. At least the one they used is decent. Actually Id prefer if the lower were aluminum also.

That is awesome. Being aluminum, can it be made to have an swappable magwell for ak mags? That would just put it over the top.

The same guy is doing R&D on an aluminum lower that takes AR grips and AK mags. To top it all off he's using the income from projects like the above lower to source 7.62 bolts and barrel conversion kits.

Ok. I feel the need an acr now. Always wanted one but the questionable reliabilty and lack of factory support always deterred me. I am just glad that franklin picked it up. Franklin, being a stand up and an innovative company, i feel the acr is in good hands.

Lack of factory support/parts had relegated it to membership in the dead platform society in my safe. A cool footnote in modern firearm design. My personal example always ran fine. I shot it a lot for a couple years, then parked it. I think it has tons of potential and am hopeful Franklin resurrects it and gives it the support the design deserves.
