The most popular military fighting knife in US history just got a makeover. We’ve seen Marines versions, Navy versions, and Army versions, and now there’s a Space Force version. The new KA-BAR USSF SPACE-BAR knife has that old familiar shape with a new look that is out of this world. As KA-BAR says, they’re introducing the “tried-and-true KA-BAR Fighting/Utility Knife to a post-orbital world.”

The KA-BAR USSF SPACE-BAR retains the same shape and size as the popular fighting/utility knife from the brand. It features a 7″ 1095 Cro-Van steel clip point blade with a gray powder coated finish. It’s still the full .165″ thick and has that glorious fuller. It’s also marked “USSF” and “KA-BAR” on the tang.

KA-BAR USSF SPACE-BAR Knife

The handle is blue Kraton G that really sells the Space Force look. The guard and butt cap are also the same light gray as the blade.

This fixed blade is 11.75″ overall and weighs in at 10.4oz. It comes with a light gray, hard plastic sheath that is MOLLE compatible.

I don't care about the color, but, being left handed, I do like the ambi sheath that comes with the blue version.

I'm asking the same question. I figured I better buy a couple of the blue ones and a couple of the standard ones.

Sign up your email at Smoky Mountain Knife Works and they'll immediately send you a 10% off code. Best deal I could find on these knives, even before the 10% off. Free shipping over $75 as well.

Thanks OP for sharing. I didn't really need any more knives!

Got to hand it to Ka Bar, they know how to market. Haven't sold a knife to the Navy or Marine Corps in almost 80 years, but they've sold probably 50 times as many to the moto freaks since then.
Yeah, I'm getting one.

Yeah, I'm getting one.
So is this knife like a “tribute” to USSF… or has there been an official order placed by the Govt and these blue “Space-Bars” have a NSN?

It's a tribute knife, like everything Ka Bar has made since the '50s. The USMC knives are the same thing. They made some during WWII, but most of the "Ka Bars" properly the USMC Mark 2 that have been issued were either Camillus or Ontario.

Still, one sharp deal, a cut above the rest. If you get my point.

The Space Force will be issued light sabers and photon blasters.

The Space Army will be issued the phased-plasma rifles and the Marines will get the older pulse rifles that the Space Navy once used.

I had it in my cart, but I bought the Buck Knife deal last month. I already have a Gerber fixed blade survivor knife too. I always liked the look of these knives, but my common sense is telling me to save for something else.

Well I ordered a blue one and a regular one. I will donate it to a local youth pheasant hunting non-profit at the prize table at their annual banquet.
I have no real use for such a large knife, but they are cool. It'll make some kids happy. Who knows.....maybe i'll win one back.

you guys just convinced me to get one. I have a nice ka-bar with a leather sheath that has a nice Eagle, Globe, and Anchor stamped in the front, and I have a legit USN Mk2 (I think it's Camillus without going and digging it out). So yea, I need this.
And I really like the font they used, the same "A" as the old NASA logo.

I'm glad I missed the Buck deal, and am skipping this one too, because I scored a pair of Montana Knife Company Super Cubs. One gray and one orange/black. My knife budget is gone for a while.

Rarely do I quote myself, but I got the 10% discount for signing up for the newsletter and I decided to buy the normal version for $54.98:

https://www.smkw.com/kabar-ussf-smkw-exclusive-leather

and an "Old Hickory Butcher Knife for $11.99

https://www.smkw.com/old-hickory-car...tcher-knife-sm

The 10% off basically gave me free shipping. So it was $72 and change total.

This deals forum has cost me thousands ......

In a way I agree with you. It's fugly. In another way, I totally want one. Can I explain either of these feelings? Nope. And at this stage in life, I don't explain myself to anyone anyway. F*ck it.

You have a wonderful day.
