It's all about the calories.

That Wise bucket has 13,400 calories. It does say 'Freeze Dried and Dehydrated' and freeze-dried is easier to prepare, but it doesn't say which meals are freeze-dried and which are dehydrated.

This Augason Farms bucket has 37,000 calories. For $77. Free shipping.

Do some research on Wise before you waste your money.

Here is a start. https://www.survivalistboards.com/th...#post-19394980

The food is not the problem.

They were sued for claiming '30 day supply for 4 people' or something like that when in reality it was only about 450 calories-a-day for those 4 people. Which is less than starvation rations. The POW's held in Germany were given about 1500 calories a day. And that was a starvation diet.

There is nothing wrong with your Wise buckets as long as you calculate the nutrition realistically. Librarian did a nice write-up here -

I was replying holy crap to all the drama Wise foods is caught up in. Iíve never tried their food. I wouldnít use that type of food as ďprepĒ food anyway. I would use it for outdoor activities so it would be used more as a put something in your stomach, and not so much about nutrition for me

Ok.

Then Mountain House, GORP and Beef Jerky are fine.

I have MH, Wise, rice, beans, deenz and a bunch of canned food. Donít rely on just one method. I always eat 2 servings of freeze dried, so plan on halving the listed numbers

I have seen several videos on this. Rams and actual testing the food and from what I have seen they are mostly watery soups no matter what itís supposed to be. Thatís why I just started buying mountain house as I have eaten them and they are pretty good considering what they are and have an advertisemed shelf life of 25 years and I assume all things in proper storage could go lots longer.

F*ck Wise.

I made an order at the beginning of COVID when their website said it was in stock. They decided to not honor the order and sold it to someone else. While I did get my money back, I bought it first and they didn't honor the order of purchase.

For what it is worth, Business Costco in Ontario had them marked at $49.97, 124 serving bucket. They had about a pallets worth left a few days ago.

I tried Wise products just once---found it very salty---did more research and found that was a common complaint---never tried it again... I've eaten several MH products at overnight outdoor get togethers and found it surprisingly edible, but not comparable to home cooking (didn't expect it to be), but I could eat it for a few days if that was necessary... FD food is handy because it is so very lightweight, BUT, you do need clean water to prepare it...

I have no personal experience with Wise Foods, the reason being that I have never heard much good about the products. At best, people rate them as mediocre.
