AC Napa CCW application

I attempted to post in the CCW county Napa thread but it was too old and couldn’t not post my question.

Hello CG I have a question about applying for CCW in Napa County or American Canyon PD. I reside in American Canyon and from what I read is that I must apply at the PD of the city has one. Please correct me if I am wrong.

From anyone’s most recent application experience for a NEW CCW how much will the whole process from the application fees, training and any other requirements cost?

Finance is tight and the chance of denial is high but it doesn’t hurt to try if the price is within budget.
I was also told to ask how much was payed prior to the approval/denial of GC.

You should apply with Solano County Sheriff rather than the city police department. All in the cost for the application and training is +/- $800. Good luck.

American Canyon is in Napa County - so why would someone who lived there apply in Solano

Correct, AC is Napa county. Apply with the SO rather than the PD.

Here's how it works:

- A PD can choose to manage the process of CCW issuance, or they can pass on that power to their county SO.

- If they do choose to manage the process, and you live in their jurisdiction, then you MUST apply at the PD.

- If they have chosen to have the SO manage it for them, then you MUST apply at the SO.

So you need to find out if American Canyon issues, or has passed that on to the SO. Most PDs have passed on the CCW task to the SOs.

You can post your question in the Napa County thread by checking the box that says you know the thread is old but want to post anyway. It is a running thread and so it is OK to bump it.
