There’s a dedicated place for these questions. Just redirecting him where he may get more responses. Clearly you didn’t answer OPs question nor did you assist in any way. |

The interview will mainly be a review of all the information in your application including your "good cause" statement. They'll also ask about recreational drug use and any knowledge of criminal record and such. Basically, they're trying to determine if everything in your application and your interview process seems to be forthright and you're not going to be a bad candidate for a permit. Have extra copies of all your supporting documentation, including driver's license and utility bills or whatever documents to show proof of residency. It's fairly straightforward. They're not trying to trip you up with any gotcha questions.

I interviewed in a neighboring county and over the phone. It was fairly amicable, not friendly but not confrontational. Primarily reviewed answers to the app, largely giving an opportunity to clarify answers if required. The only deep dive was related to legal run ins beyond the 5 years asked on the app. If they have to go back to the 90's to bring up another traffic ticket, and they did, then things aren't too bad!

Anybody go through the interview with a DL with an address that's not current? I have updated in the DMV system, but I only have a paper which says "Your address change was processed" and it doesn't actually show the address. I have a thousand other documents I can bring that shows I live where I live, but that's kind of the big one.

I had the same exact issue. My ID still showed my old address even though I had updated it online a while back. The deputy told me that he just needed something from the DMV which showed the new address. I went to the DMV a few days before my appointment and was able to get an interim drivers license which showed my new address. I didn’t have any issues with that. It took an hour out of my day but I wasn’t willing to risk it so it was worth it.

And "redirect him?" What are you, a hall monitor? You don't have to explain yourself here. Take note that most are willing to provide information. |
