Oh my god i miss my Colt Trooper Mk3. It was a pretty gun to look at and i got it for a steal $300! Another anti gun person that wanted to just get rid of it. The only thing i didn’t like about it was the trigger WAS HORRENDOUS. The double action trigger pull was for some reason extremely heavy. It maxed out my buddies trigger pull gauge at 17lbs. We ended up taking it to a gun smith that happened to have a digital scale and it was consistently breaking at 23lbs.

And the single action trigger was breaking at 7lbs.

My guess would be it was tuned for Duty use but this thing was in 90% condition and the only reason why it wasn’t in 98% condition was the lady who sold it to me forgot about it and left it in her trunk for 4 months and was commuting to Oakland International Airport 6 days a week and pulling 10-12 hour shifts. (Alameda Co Sheriff).

The exterior of the barrel and cylinder accumulated a very small amount of rust but i was able to get rid of it, however it did leave some very small and light traces of pitting. Still not bad though.

Ended up selling that revolver for $1200.

Honestly i’m ashamed to admit i have no 357 magnums in my collection. I really do want to get a S&W model 66 combat magnum with a 4in barrel. I think that would be an awesome do all revolver.

Just picked up the Springfield MC operator yesterday and oh my god…. Picasso. Extremely smooth and well broken in. I was pissing my lady off for an hour last night just raking the slide over and over again. (We’ve all been there so don’t judge me, you heathens!) But this thing is wonderful and there’s lots of patina, since the previous owner used it as a competition gun. Gonna take it to the range on Sunday and test it out.

Since you do enjoy your S&W Model 10 and mentioned the S&W 66 - all I can say is "YES!" - go for either a 4" bbl version of the 66 or if you want a slightly heavier frame - a 4" 686.
I have MANY revolvers and the one I keep going back to is my 1980's era (purchased new) 686 with the 4" bbl. (Same revolver that the CHP used to use back in the day before switching to semi-autos.)

You owe it to yourself to have a 4" bbl S&W revolver!

Side note - I did get 'bit' by the snake and bought a 3" bbl Colt King Cobra. While it has the sweetest DA/SA trigger, I still go back to my first love - my 80's S&W 686 - whenever I want to have some wheelgun trigger time.

Enjoy!

Range day report! Took the Operator out to the range and Ran 500 rounds through it and another 60 rounds of Ammo Inc 230 grain hollowpoints and it ran 100%! Absolutely awesome gun and double taps and Magdumps were able to connect with steel at 7 yards no problem. And 25 yard shots were a cakewalk! Not gonna lie though, even though the Sig p220 was 100% reliable with the 100 rounds i shot through it i was disappointed by it. It was a tack driver and reliable but i just don’t feel it. Y’know?

And unlike what i hear from other sig 220 owners my sights were dead on and i didn’t need to have a 6 O’Clock hold.

Guess i was spoiled by the 1911 lol.

So the Sig P220 might be on the chopping block soon.

Carry my stainless Smith 60-7 daily.
Also, occasionally, my compact Spanish Star BM 9mm
Have the Smith Model 10 6” my dad bought at the Norco Liquor Store on 2nd st in 1970 for $70. Don’t carry it.
Of course I use suspenders to keep my pants up.
I’d buy plastic if I could get a Star Trek Faser

The MC Operator is on my wish list but I can't seem to find one.

I have the TRP Full Rail Operator and love it.

Keep you’re head up and you’re eyes on the prize brother. That’s how i found mine! Honestly i just waited till the right deal found me and i snatched it as soon as i could lol.

It’s gonna be a minute before springfield starts manufacturing back up for the MC Operator (halted over the stupid prodigy). So right now your best bet is finding one on the used market!

Go to your safe right now. Take anything that is not manufactured by Glock, HK or Steyr add immediately put it in the marketplace here, or take it to the local gun store for consignment.

There is no reason to own anything except Glock ever. If you like having guns that work, when you pull the trigger, simple to work on, durable and shoot any kind of ammo than resist everything else, except for Gaston‘s finest.

The many pistols i have that are not glocks will continue to live happily in my safe right next to the 12 glock handguns that i already own and they get along just fine.

Never had any problems with these guns. my 1911’s, sigs, berettas and revolvers have been as reliable as my glocks.

LOL ! Those arent investments either! Pyramid schemes invented and controlled by Vanguard, BlackRock just to name a couple who run the planet. Easier to sell drugs to the white collar and stack the greenbacks under the mattress.

Hahahaha

I love when people say guns aren't investments. Now you see people selling what used to be $400 saigas for $1500+.

During the “pandemic” $500 glocks were selling for $1000-$2000.

Nice problem to have in my opinion, for the most part all I have owned has been 1911's, bought a Glock a couple of months ago and wasn't enamored by it so I sold it .

So which lgs would you suggest taking my treasures to ??.. I’m sure a Detective Special might tempt you to open your wallet and change your tune.. Maybe a sweet C-series Hi Power ??.. Sorry,, Glocks are the ugliest and most ill fitting pistols I’ve ever put in my hand..MP9c’s are where it’s at.. The only tupperware I own…
Cheers..

My work has two 3” pythons and they’re so niiiiicccceeeeee.

But i feel like a 4.25” would be more practical. But i get very nostalgic about the 3” python because my favorite video game as a kid had a “snub nose” python in it.

Decided to sell my Sig P220. It’s a nice shooter but this is my second one and i gave it a fair second chance but this pistol is just not for me.

After killing the bank account buying up the master builds recently, I decided to build a truck gun from a bunch of parts that were lying around. Its a 1977 Series 70 satin nickel Commander frame with an officers 3.5 inch 80 series slide. More of a frankengun I guess you can say but a blast to shoot and I could care less if it gets a scratch or some holster wear.

My Model 10 is by far my favorite revolver in my collection. It was my First revolver and first all steel pistol. It?s accurate, reliable and very fun to shoot. Ammo is cheap ish and 38special is easy to find again. Low recoil too which makes it perfect to introduce new shooters to the sport!

Once the snow melts off i’m taking One of my coworkers who hasn’t shot guns since she was a kid out shooting. Bringing out my 22s, my Daniel defense M4A1, a wide variety of handguns and my Model 10.
