Talking My Story CCW in 14 days

So I have been doing some shooting for a while becoming more proficient with my Firearm. Decided to get the CCW knocked out. I did the live scan on the 28th of September, the Class on Saturday the 29th. Then I was lazy for a while with some projects. Gathered the necessary items on the list and filled out the application on the 10th of October. I uploaded everything and they gave me an interview date of the 11th at 11. I walked out at 12:15 that afternoon with the permit. They still haven't even cashed my check yet and I have been carrying for almost a week now. I dont know what the record is but I cant help to think how long it would have taken had I filled out the application online Monday the 1st Anyone else have a fast process story?

I've had students who's applications were expedited and received their LTCs in less than two weeks but, it's not common.

Sorry, Yes Orange county. I think the DD214 Veteran status is what helps move the interview date along. But that's my guess.

I dont post often but have been a gun owner for 35 years. I started young.

It would have been nice if you had posted your location in the OP.

His location is in his profile and shows on every post. Was that not there before?

That is a quick turn around for anywhere in CA

Kudos to the OCSD CCW team.
They are amazing, and have done an excellent job at streamlining the process. My renewal also went extremely smoothly.

I believethat Undersheriff Don Barnes drove this program.
November 6th is coming up soon.

You might want to make sure you go through the online app and get to the part where you provide items. Make sure you have everything. Utility bill, Lease agreement what ever they require to prove residency.

Good for you OP! That was quicker than the time it took for my last few renewals here in Humboldt County.

On the other hand, I recently applied for my State of Oregon Non-Resident CHL on September 20th, and as of October 16th when I last checked my PO Box nope - so I am still waiting. Hopefully it will be waiting there manana when I go down the hill to town and check my mail.

Mine was 21 days start to finish. I live in the small city of Ripon (San Joaquin county), and they process their own CCW's, so they get done fast.

Way faster than the sheriff in SJ County! I am in Salida so mine is through Stanislaus Sheriff and it took about 6 months. I have heard it is down to about 3 now though. SJ should speed up with the new Sheriff.

This is some good news for those in OC. Good news for the entire state for that matter. Still can't beat my pops in ID. He walked into the Owyhee County SO with his DD 214 in his hand, spoke personally to the sheriff himself, and walked out 90 minutes later with a laminated CCW ID card. Most of that time was spend reminiscing with the sheriff over his service in the Marines.

Glad you made the cut

My story? Up here in "the real northern California" my papers took 3 days to process for my original. Renewals are like ordering at the drive through once your range time/mandatory classroom signed papers are in hand. Sign your papers, roll a print and pay the fee.

As a note I have been having customer come to my concealed carry holster shop telling me they have gotten their OCSD CCW in as little as 30 days, however none of them started by doing the live scan and training before applying.
