If he sent it in with his application he did it without being told to do so, like the rest of the smart people.

Nope, not at all. Why would they care? Someone taking training before being told to hasn't been an issue.

No I wasn't told too. But I know their workload, I am confident in my renewal. I was able to afford it, fit my schedule and timeline and saves them a whole lot of work. I look at this way, assuming the GC is acceptable (a reasonable gamble) then I have saved them a lot of work. Everything they need to say yes is present. I went to a trainer I know they hold in high regard and speak to regularly. Guns haven't changed, no incidents. Well see how long it takes.

If they were to reject you couldn't complain you spent the money, since you didn't have the go ahead. But really not much of an issue. |

It really doesn't save them much work because the process is supply to be submit app and wait for them to tell you to take training. It definitely doesn't hurt to do it that way but I wasn't able to time wise.
I take my training next weekend and when I pass it I will just send it in to Melissa right away. Good luck to us all, I really don't think most of us will have any issues. |

Took the FTA 4 hour re-qualifier yesterday. Met a Russian guy, he stated his good cause was self defense. He showed me an email he received stating he needs another good cause statement. He replied to Melissa and said , " I don't have one" this guy couldn't even speak straight english. And showed me the reply email: stated " ok, your good" and was given a renewal. Is this guy lucky or what?

I called the OCSD CCW number today to verify and they told me it was the CII#.

just submitted my renewal today and got confirmation of receipt immediately. despite the 90 day instructions I took a chance and waited to 60 days. (not going to lie it slipped my mind a bit because ive been super busy with work) Hopefully I'm not the one that gets an example made of lol. I see people getting initial approvals within a month so crossing my fingers. Might just take a class in advance too since I'm already running a little behind. I articulated my GC very well so I'm confident for approval. Maybe not confident enough to take class yet though lol. Keep you guys posted. Yolanda is handling my file.

The local agency number is the one the the the application speaks to. It's your actual OCSD permit number. The CII number is your statewide California "rap sheet" number assigned by DOJ. It's not a huge deal since it's a renewal an they already know who you (we) are, so either will work. With that said, I put both. |

Back in the day they used to suggest renewing 45 days prior to your expiration date. Now with so many permits they want 90. It will be interesting to see what the average renewal time turns out to be. |

Orange County Renewal - See Post # 25
Yeah, it would be a different story if we were hearing about people getting denied. This way you can take the training and send in your cert. Then it will just be a matter of them approving you and setting your pickup date.

I have a new handgun in jail. I am applying for my oc renewal ccw in May. Should I:
1. Add new gun to existing permit before renewal 2.take new gun to renewal 4 hour class and attempt to add it during the renewal process 3. Do the renewal and add new gun after new permit is issued. I appreciate any input...thanks |

And when I filed my renewal application I added the new pistol. Last Saturday I took my 4 hour re-qualifier and the new pistol was added on my certificate. Sent from my SM-N920T using Tapatalk

She will be emailing me the date,as to when the pickup date will be. I am guessing it would be a date closer to the original expiration date.
