Default Moving out of state, should I tell CA anything about guns?

Moving out of state, should I tell CA anything about my guns I'm taking with me? All of them were bought in CA legally, but some of them became illegal, so I converted them to be legal, such as I converted AR-10 to featureless, and Vepr-12 to single shot. I also have standard capacity magazines which are more than 10 rounds, which I purchased/converted during freedom week. Will I be able to bring them back if I'd like to return?
I have a properties in both states.

Screw them. It's their problem. Enjoy your new freedom!

It is my understanding once standard capacity mags leave the state they can not return.

Unlike Illegals

OK, I can leave them here, and buy a new ones over there. I also have off-roster handgun, it's a revolver which is not on a roster, and was bought as an SA, but converted to SA/DA.
Will I be able to bring all the guns that I purchased in CA, back, if I wish?

Yes you can bring guns back so long as they are not in assault weapon config

IF you ever plan on coming back, you may want to consider leaving any 10+ capacity magazines inside CA. They're cheap enough to buy replacements in normal states, but you will get spanked if you get caught trying to re-import them back here.

I would keep any standard caps within CA in a safe place where you can access them again within-state so you can still access them within the state in the future should you visit, but other than that, no need to tell anything to the CA authorities. Enjoy your new-found freedoms.

What about non-roster SA/DA revolver?
Any C&R gun can I bring, which was bought outside of CA?

Don’t worry about the guns. Worry about anything with a license plate. Took 6 months to get everything cleared up and to get my $ back...

Be careful with ex-CA stuff you've held out of state. You may end up modifying them to a non CA-legal configuration and may bring them back forgetting this or that.

I leave my CA-legal firearms alone as newer, free state acquired guns are becoming a lot more interesting to me anyway. I still keep some of the CA-legal guns in state, just in case friends ask me to go shooting (or I need to fight my way out LOL)

Actually have a question about it as well. I have registration coming in a few days, so I went to the DMV website and changed the address for this particular vehicle to out of state. Anything else I need to do after that? I don't want to pay this reg. here.

I'm in the exact same boat and decided to just move anything that looks scary or is the slightest bit questionable to my new state. I still keep a few firearms in CA, but only ones that wont raise eyebrows. To me it just wasn't worth it because I had always been a bit nervous that I (or anyone else) could be set up at the whim of some corrupt state official. Being done with CA will feel like a major weight has been lifted from you - so don't waste too much time looking back.

Voluntarily providing California with any information, not specifically required by statute, seems somewhat silly. I mean, Why? Unless there is a law that requires you to do so, or some benefit to you, Why? What they do not know cannot be used against you.

Wink

I'd tell them what part of your anatomy to kiss , and on the last mile before the state line, I'd open the sun roof, and start tossing all that CA crap - like those dorky AR grips, bullet buttons, 10 rd mags and other crap - onto the highway behind you.

THEIR crap - THEIR problem!

Nope. Just make sure you do a statement of fact form for your vehicles after you move and get new plates so commiefornia doesn’t keep sending you a dmv renewal bill to your old address.

Your guns are free to leave on their own. Where i live now we can just sell them or trade them to friends, neighbors or people at the gun shows. Any form of firearm registration in Idaho is against the law.
Anything Ca thinks you have doesn’t matter.
They have zero jurisdictional authority on you. Welcome to freedom. Try and never return there. If there were a way to purge my cadoj firearms records i would have just because, but there’s not. I certainly didn’t drop them a line to give them the “courtesy” of letting them know i moved.

california will never be anyone's friend and they will use anything they can against you so do not say anything you do not have to. The more california has the more they can harass you if they want.

Indeed! And, I am very glad that you came to the U.S. One of my closest friends is from the USSR, and he loves and appreciates this country more than the vast majority of people who were born here.

I always told my Russian friend that being an "American" is more a state of mind than actual location. Essentially lots of Americans are born in other countries just like there are lots of people (democrats) who were born here - but are not true "Americans". You can't be a real American if you hate this country..
