They are simple, reliable, and easy to work on.

Are they amazing guns? No. But they are good.

Hahhah. It is all pretty entertaining. It reminds me of politics somewhat, where the leftist is often triggered, but has no argument, so they call names or resort to questioning the intent or intelligence of the person who dares to appreciate that gun they don't like.

IMHO, if anything people who can't appreciate a variety of firearms are more simple, but that's their choice. Does not effect me unless I decide to get irritated by an anonymous person on the internet impugning a brand they assume I am loyal to or have some stake in seeing popularized. Glocks sell themselves.

Revolvers are for ex 70's cops...

HK's are for John wick fanboys...

1911's are for decrepit wannabe target shooters who like to spend thousands on fixes for the design and self gratification.
Glocks were designed for the 70s cops transition to semi auto.

1911s are for people who know how to release a parking brake.

HK's are for John Wick fanboys.

LOL! This is funny. I’ve owned many Glocks, and loved them all. Don’t have any factory Glocks at the moment, but building this one right now as a new carry gun.

Also love my all the 1911’s I’ve owned. This one is my favorite. Of all the firearms I have built, this was the first 1911 I built after being disabled in an accident & losing use of my left ARM/HAND!

I built it for use with 450SMC/45Super

They do have to be cleaned and maintained.

The Glock pistol is not a miracle gun unless you are Gaston Glock and make 90% profit off every pistol.

Indeed. Range rental guns are a great way to try stuff out, but dont gauge reliability on a G19 that might be filthy, shot out, or just abused in general.

My M&P, XD, Beretta PX4 and 92, Springfield 1911, and CZ-SP01 didn't come with a better trigger. The only guns I have that came with better triggers were my revolvers.

Yeah, or learn to set up triggers on your own. That is exactly how I got into Gunsmithing & building! Late 90’s, and it was actually a Glock 17..my FIRST pistol! Started with the trigger on it. 5 years later I had performed trigger jobs on every gun I owned, and just kept going.

I agree on the rest of the Berettas and the XD... even a gen 1 M&P, but you really think that a springfield 1911 has the same trigger or worse than a stock G17?

seriously what 1911 do you have? is it an original milspec kept in salt, buried in the sand, deep fried after then wiped down with superglue?

I'm not saying Glock triggers are that bad but comparing them to any 1911 is a far stretch.

I do have a few polymer frame handguns, so that’s not a factor in my failure to appreciate. I had also heard they are very inexpensive comparatively, but here on CG and on Gun Broker, they are routinely offered at $1,000.00+, and I’m not talking about a tricked out customized example. I guess I’m kinda old-school when it comes to fit, finish, craftsmanship, etc., and they just don’t have it. Don’t hate me for my blasé attitude towards probably the most popular make of handgun in the world - I would really like to know. So, what am I missing? TIA
I don't see it. Can someone please explain to me why people have to post rant's about Glock "fanbois"?

You don't like Glocks. So what? No one cares that you don't like Glocks.

And, yes, I have a Glock. One. I like shooting my Glock because it was cheap and I haven't cleaned it for three years, and I don't feel guilty for not cleaning it.

Lmao. In reality, an SD9VE is like a Glock knockoff bought from Wish.com. Made proudly in China.

EVERYONE has brought a GLOCK KNOCK-OFF to market for a reason. Some are really good. Too bad in CA the roster has very few. Even with the skate ramp CA LCI and mag safety, the Shield is a nice gun.

The Notorious. More reliable than a pistol with two world wars on its resume, for only $100.

It’s the Civic/Corolla of the handgun world. That’s my opinion.
I was young and there was no internet for information when I was thinking about what first semi auto gun to buy (too young to shoot some would say). Magazines were my info source and Masad Ayoob had an article on all the 'wonder nines' including the new gun, the Glock.

Based on that I decided not to get a Glock, but a double/single action of German design. And hated Glocks for years.

Recently I bought a G17 (because of the Hickok45 channel). Very soon I decided this was best semiauto by far I had ever shot. I liked everything about it and wished I had started with Glocks.

I now consider it to be a classic like the Kentucky Rifle, Winchester lever gun, English style double shotgun, Colt revolver.

Wait til the new HiPoint C9 comes out, to me, the price point and looks shall end the Glocks in reliability, looks, and pricing.
Supposedly they will not increase price for these new models.
It will be double stacked magazines as well.
And
MADE IN USA.

That looks so much better. Bedsides the grip panel screw. I would 100% buy one if they were on the roster.

Trigger mechanism? Or trigger performance/feel?

If you’re asking trigger feel, the differences are from unit to unit even from the same model.

Just go to a large public area and look at the women. You will notice most of them would be rated 4-6, however most of those also have husbands/boyfriends.

Glock fans are like those husbands/boyfriends that are content with a 4-6, they don't expect much but are happy with reliability and function.

Yeah mechanism like the trigger on a CALI SP-01 with the manual safety is different than the PCR with decocker... PCR is much much better IMHO at least with the one PCR and a few SP-01's I have shot. My SP-01 will go to CGW sometime. I have not shot a P-01 and always assumed they were like a PCR with a rail, but maybe the PCR is just awesome. SP-01 isn't bad at all, but my PCR needs nothing except for the mags to make the grip longer.
