Default Bonta running for Governor?

Paywall; https://www.sfchronicle.com/opinion/...a-18109079.php

Rob Bonta is considering a run for California governor. His actions on housing will determine if he's worthy

Emily Hoeven
May 21, 2023

Quote:
Enter Attorney General Rob Bonta, who told me he is ?seriously considering? a run for governor in an exclusive interview Friday. ?Quite a few folks have reached out to me encouraging me to run for governor,? Bonta said, though he insisted his current focus is ?on being attorney general? and a gubernatorial bid isn?t ?something that I?m making a decision on today.?

Nevertheless, he seems to be laying the groundwork for a statewide campaign by zeroing in on issues that California voters consistently rank among their top concerns: housing affordability and homelessness.

Soft on Crime AG who colludes with a proscutor who's job #1 is literally to dump as many dangerous criminals on the street as humanly possible?

HELL NO!

"California Attorney General Bonta, DA Gascon colluding to overturn death sentences, prosecutor alleges

The cases were reassigned to a Gascon loyalist because 'ethical deputy district attorneys would not have done this,' the prosecutor alleges"

https://www.dailynews.com/2021/11/16...cutor-alleges/

Rob Bonta has been an absolute disaster as California's AG in multiple ways and would continue to be a disaster as he further disgraced the state as Governor..

HELL NO BONTA!! GTFO!

He is piece of crap and should be in prison for deliberately doxxing every California CCW holder, not contemplating a run for Governor but that's how things work in this Commie Paradise. Reward the criminals with a promotion. And the moronic electorate of California
will probably do so.

From the state that elected Feinstein, Pelosi, Harris, and Newscum, anything is possible.

He's not running for anything. The Democrats will put him in that position if they so choose. Our votes mean NOTHING in this state.

I think what he wets his pants about is the AG job in DC, but senile Joe is not going away yet so Newscum has to wait his turn and bring his ratpack of Bonta with him in another 4 years.

I thought nobody could be worse than Jerry Brown.
Boy, was I wrong.
Mr. hair gel is considerably worse than Jerry.
As looney as Jerry was/is, he had a modicum of integrity.
Now, I thought nobody could be worse than Newsome.
Bonta will be even worse.

Every morning, I used to say "Well, I've got to meet with Gov. Brown." Then the morning ritual became known as the "Gruesome Newsom". What will it be now, Bustin' Bonta?

Bonta is a pure politician in the worst sense of the word.
His idealism is nothing but a prop for his ambitions.
His ambition and pursuit of control override any core beliefs.

Choosing not to vote is voting for these woke politicians.

Make sure everyone votes.

Absolutely. I feel for you guys stuck in deep blue states like California, but it is the duty of everyone to make the effort to vote, even if the situation feels hopeless.

Literally everyone, from the "experts" on mainstream media to late-night hosts to statistician pundits to politicians themselves, said that Clinton had a 99% chance of winning in 2016. Imagine if people took that to heart and gave up. Now, I know it didn't work out in 2020, but it was still within 1.5% in many key states.

Virginia had not elected a single Republican to statewide office since 2009, but we got Glenn Youngkin in by a thread through a combination of good messaging and a little moderating.

If you don't at least try, then you cede all the power to the woke authoritarians and their cult followers.

Republicans are 27% of voters here. We are a one party state, like Cuba with EV's.

If conservatives had stayed here we might have a fighting chance but that option left the state long ago.

We will have the choice of Bonta or that nutty Lt. Governor.

Pick your poison, the winner is guaranteed two terms and then a senate run.

FWIW, less than half of registered republicans voted last go around in CA. If everyone showed up to vote we'd have won by several hundred thousand votes.

Ha. When Governor Smarmy Progressive Hairgel comes over to the east, states like Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Georgia will send him packing his bags back to the Left Coast.

There's a reason why Democrats are so terrified of Biden dying on them. Old "moderate" (not really moderate, but you know what I mean) Joe from Scranton, PA has an image he can sell across the flyover areas.

Newsom campaigning in Pittsburgh, Milwaukee, or hell, come on over to Richmond, wouldn't be the same.

Seriously. Send your governor to Virginia to lecture us about how backwards, stupid, and redneck we are. Make sure he calls our loose gun laws "terrorist" and say our culture directly causes children to die. It would improve Republican electoral prospects.

We have state elections on odd-numbered years, so if you could send him over in about 12-16 weeks, that would be swell.

Fleeing is only an option in the short-term. At some point, gun owners need to stop self-packing and ceding the rest of the country to progressive authoritarians.

Look at what happened to Arizona. Republicans up and down the ballot, Republican governor, Republican state house, Republican state senate, not one Democrat won the state from 1952 to 2016 except one Bill Clinton in 1992.

Now, it has two Democrats in the Senate, Democratic governor, and 1-seat Republican majorities in the state legislature. Arizona will be a blue state by 2030.

You feel safe in Idaho? California could fill ten Idahos with enough voters to turn the state blue and still have enough left to elect all Democrats back in California.

I remember back when Washington and Oregon gun owners used to laugh at all the gun control laws down in liberal California, while they enjoyed their unfettered access to semi-automatics and high-capacity magazines.

They're not laughing any more.

There is reason liberal Californians won't move to Idaho and Utah like they do to Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington... yep, the same reason that half of Calguns wouldn't move there either. Too many Mormons. The same reason that Utah will be the last red state in the west, maybe even the whole country.

Exactly.
