May 28 is Pentecost
Jesus Christ is the promised gift of God
Holy Spirit is the promised gift of Christ Do you and your church celebrate Pentecost? I've always wondered why Pentecost is not celebrated as greatly as Christmans is. Pentecost is the birthday of the church and the day that God The Holy Spirit came to earth. Jesus came to earth for 33 years. The Spirit Of Truth has been living and active from the ascension of Christ to beyond today. Ever acting, ever interceeding to God on our behalf when the mere mortal words of our prayers are inadequate. Holy Spirit, The Advocate, is personally responsible for saving every believer since the apostles by convicing our hearts of our need for Christ. What are your thoughts on Pentecost? "but now I am going to him who sent me. None of you asks me, ?Where are you going?? Rather, you are filled with grief because I have said these things. But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you. When he comes, he will prove the world to be in the wrong about sin and righteousness and judgment: about sin, because people do not believe in me; about righteousness, because I am going to the Father, where you can see me no longer; and about judgment, because the prince of this world now stands condemned. ?I have much more to say to you, more than you can now bear. Its likely that most " current times believers " don't know or don't care about Pentecost in these later times. I know about but in my 79 years I don't recall ever hearing about a celebration of Pentecost except by Messianic Jews. I agree with you about the occurrence you listed in the red letters above. My background is Pentecostal/Full Gospel. Thanks for the reminder Bro.

The Holy Spirit decending and inspiring the apostles with the sacred knowledge to evangelize after Jesus ascention to heaven.
The 5-28 celelbration of this important event is under rated. The Holy Ghost, now regarded as the Holy Spirit. As important a element of the Holy Trinity as any other it regarded as the intercessor or communicator of the inspired Word.

Well what do you know...our church mentioned during announcements that this was the Pentecost weekend.
 And then he proceeded to say, "Happy Memorial day"   I didn't make a fuss, because it's easy to slip when saying something live in front of several hundred people and it's a common faux pas.

So for those of you not in the know, Pentecost, yes, is the birthday of the church in Acts 2...
But... Pentecost was the feast day on which the original law was given at Mt Sinai in Exodus, as well. It symbolizes both the writing of the law on tablets of stone, and then Jesus fulfilled that, and then the new law was written on their hearts. Quote:
