Default Brownells A1 carry handle uppers are back.

Brownells has the A1 and C7 uppers back in stock. https://www.brownells.com/gun-parts/...pper-receiver/
https://www.brownells.com/gun-parts/...?sku=078000451

If you have an account, they are about $125.00. There is also a Memorial Day Promo Code for 15% off. The last batch they sold were wonky & out of spec. Hopefully, they got it right this time?

Description says Nodak, and two reviews from a couple weeks ago say the gap is gone. Tempted to get a C7 or two.

That's what the C7 is; someone correct me if I'm wrong but the C7 was a Canadian variant with a fixed carry handle and deflector

Canadian and Mogadishu/Black Hawk Down.

The A1 has no brass deflector, according to the description.

I know the m16?I was issued didn’t have a brass deflector. I wouldn’t even mind a slick side but it’s almost impossible to find the proper bolt carrier and when you do the are crazy expensive

It’s great that you are attempting to educate the guy. Attention to detail. It is not his fault because the A1 link does not have a picture (menu). It is probably for the best.

The video at the bottom of the A1 page (New Products Week in Review) does show the upper as part of the retro A1 "walkaround".

You are right. I believe that video is from 2016. In the same video, they present the new vortex viper red dot sight so, yeah it is dated. As Green Grunt stated in post #2, the C7 and slick side (604) uppers from a couple of years ago were flawed in several ways. There was a gap between the upper & lower near the buffer tube (receiver extension). The carry handle rails were also messed up, with one side razor thin. I received one (1) of four (4) that didn?t look too bad, but the rear sight would not tighten down because something was out of spec. I don?t settle for wonky. I received and returned four (4) of them. There were some really horrible pictures of these uppers posted on Brownells in the reviews section. However, when Brownells updated their website, all of those photos disappeared. With all that said and my previous experience with these, I ordered both an A1 and a C7. If they?re messed up, I?ll return them. The nice thing about Brownells is they accept returns without hassle.
