Default What CCW insurance do you guys have/ recommend?

So i just got approved to get my CCW and i should be getting my permit on 01/03/2023. I want to get carry insurance but i’m stuck between Firearms Legal Protection and the USCCA. I think FLP has better coverage. What do you guys carry?

While I used CCWSafe, everyone has different wants and needs. It's up to you to find the policy or membership that suits your wants and needs the best. That said, last year at SHOT, I happened on US Law Shield's booth They immediately asked me if I has some sort of legal protection (please note: CCWSafe, USCCA, US Law Shield, etc. are NOT "insurance", they are memberships with benefits similar to "insurance"), I said "yes" and they came back with "Google USCCA lawsuit". I then told them I was with CCW Safe and they didn't have a comeback. That said, I now recommend that everyone google "whatever company lawsuit" before finalizing your decision.

Should you choose to go with CCW Safe of join or renew your NRA membership, please use my affiliate member link in my sig line.

But I have CCW Safe. The link above shows the comparison of the main providers that gives a good summary.

USCCA has a reimbursement clause, which I suggest you read if you do consider them.

I had USCCA for a few years. I dropped them going into 2021 (when they increased premiums and updated their T&Cs, which included the "reimbursement" clause). Am now using CCW Safe.

I have a $5 million dollar umbrella policy that will reimburse me for legal costs if found not guilty.

Umbrella insurance covers defense costs, judgments and court costs in the event you’re sued, and protects against liability related to non-bodily and bodily injuries. An umbrella policy typically covers the following:

Personal injury
Bodily injury to others
Property damage
Slander
Defamation
Libel
Invasion of privacy
Defense costs
Legal settlements
Wrongful eviction
Wrongful entry

CCW Safe…if you lose USCCA wants their money back, not so with CCW Safe, they also pay towards a civil judgement loss.
I like the people on their staff and learn ALOT listening to their podcasts.
USCCA will not leave you alone, minimum 5 emails a day and texts, becomes quite annoying.

Even if you cancel - they still WILL NOT LEAVE you alone...

I marked all USCCA emails now as SPAM.

Do you still advocate having two insurances?

WOW…. That’s insane. I never knew that about USCCA. Does Firearms Legal Protection also have a policy like that?

The market has changed a lot since then. Back then, CCW Safe didn't even offer civil liability coverage and, USCCA only covered bail up to $250,000. I believe the best thing to do is find the policy/policies/membership/memberships that suits your wants and need the best and make your own decision. If you get two or more coverages, which one will be the primary? How do you know that the one you want to be the primary won't try to defer to your secondary coverage? I really don't know how any two different companies work together????

Policies and membership privileges constantly change. That's why I suggested searching for lawsuits the company/companies you're interested in before finalizing your decision(s).
