UPDATE. I emailed Streamlight with a ton of pictures of the light, beamshots etc and they told me mine is 100% genuine. This is their response. "The color temperature range of the LED is the same for both products. The TLR-7 optic shifts the color temp to the warmer side as light passes through the optic material. The TLR-1 uses a reflector which does not shift color temperature."
Did Streamlight change the color temp of their lights or is it just because it is a different model? I have owned a TLR-1s (purchased when I was a Dealer) for a few years and am quite used to it. I just got a TLR-7a Flex (purchased on Amazon) and the color temp difference is night and day. The TLR-7a looks genuine and it registered fine online. I am just always skeptical when buying anything on Amazon because of all the fakes out there. Here are the 2 beam shots from 12" away. TLR-1s on the left TLR-7a Flex on the right. ![]() Last edited by damndave; 03-16-2023 at 3:18 AM.. |

I would shoot Streamlight and email and ask them if they used a warmer LED in the TLR7 compared to the TLR1...and/or if your light is real/fake.

Maybe this will help:
https://www.reddit.com/r/CCW/comment...e_streamlight/ https://thecounterfeitreport.com/pro...on-Lights.html https://www.1911addicts.com/threads/...lr-1-hl.53361/ I have 4 TLR1HL & 2 TLR7A and they all look like the left side. No other reputable gun-light company use soft color temperature except for Cloud Defensive Rein 1.0 at around 4000k, Rein 2.0 & 3.0 all go higher temp and more white. If I have to bet money, the right side are fake. |

What color is the wall paint?
Does the TLR-1 have a white light, or a tint of blue? The photo looks like it has a slight tint of blue. Is this from the camera white balance? I have a TRL- 7 and the light is white. No blue tint. I much prefer white / warmer color flashlights. The cold blues and greens don?t register with the brain like the more natural warm colors do. It seems like my brain needs to take an extra step to register the items in view. More so when outside. I?ve spent lots of time in the dark woods playing with flashlights. Even the warmer lights with ? the lumens seem to work better than a more powerful blue / green units. It?s almost like comparing a low quality scope to a high end unit. And this is magnified when biking the trails at night. I?ll never purchase another cool color light again. Not sure if this helps. . . |

4000k-4500k color temperature & high cri are best(at least for my eyes), especially at night. |

Found this thread when trying to figure out why my TLR7-Sub looks like a different color temp than my TLR7-A. TLR7-Sub much whiter.
BTW I'm testing out the Ready Up Gear RC123 batteries in these and wow so much more output! |
