Default Earbuds

What brand do you use for shooting that actually work? Tired of wearing earmuffs especially for hours in the CA summer or when some rifle stocks hit the bottom of them resulting in not the most comfortable or accurate check weld. I do most of my shooting outside. TIA

I use these Walker Razor. THey connect via blootooth to your phone if desired. I've been thinking about upgrading to something else but haven't really looked as these are still doing the trick.

Funny story about these. Second time I used them it happened to be on my birthday and I was shooting in a USPSA competion. So I'm just about to go to the line my mother calls. I know because bluetooth says 'Mom Calling' but I say ignore. Then as I get almost through the stage it starts ringing again. I finish the stage and then say answer as I fish the phone out of my back pocket. Mom answers and I say (with gunshots going off on the other stages), 'Mom, I can't talk right now. I'm in the middle of a gun fight. I'll call you back.' And I hang up. I called her back about 45 minutes later and she nonchalantly says 'Will nice of you to find time to speak with your Mother'

She doesn't let many things bother her. She once held a burgler a gunpoint (Dad's S&W 1917 .45 revolver) until the cops got there.

She's coming to visit next week and it's always an adventure.

Now back to our regularly schedule program.

Are you talking about ear buds for music for shooting?

Try Surefire Sonic Defenders. I like the EP4's. They work great and are far easier to insert than foamies. YMMV.

Check out these 2 articles I wrote. I couldn't say in the article, but I do prefer the OTTO over the Peltor, and the DefendEar are to die for if you can afford them. None of these are 100% for indoors -- the sound bounces around too much. But outdoors? Primo!

I've been using earplugs similar to this:
Howard Leight AS-1

27 DB protection. Reusable, Cheap. I like the ones that have a cord running between the two so I can pull them out and hang them around my neck. I have a brand OTMT model EP130 but they are no longer available. The don't have the cord but a dress shoe shoelace works well to hook up the pair.

I usually use electronic muffs when shooting, but the ones I have interfere with cheek weld. For long guns I swap to thinner electronic muffs and use the earplugs in conjunction with the thinner muffs.
