Did you follow the process?

Yes, it's very simple. Two pins and out it comes. The only somewhat tricky part I ran into was getting the bolt release spring and plate to behave nicely. Takes me maybe 5 minutes to take my jewell on and off the action. 4 of those minutes are me setting up my barrel vise.

I droppeda Timney into my 700 in five minutes. Watch a youtube, the pins are directional, iirc, and are opposite, one goes r one goes L, if i am remembering right.

Super simple. I too had an issue with the bolt release plate, but Randall fixed in in under 4 seconds with pliers when i had it in for something else.

I have installed the timney trigger on a number of Rem rifles---also ruger and Weatherby. The Rem was super easy. There is another poster that said he had troubles with his. To me that is the rare exception and not the rule(common). Get one and you will understand just how bad the original one was compared to the new one.

I replaced the original trigger on a 700 I used to own with one of Timney’s Calvin Elite triggers. Awesome trigger, well worth the money spent.

There are a bunch of aftermarket trigger for the Rem 700. Keep your eyes open for bargains. Awhile ago someone posted about TriggerTechs on sale for a hundred-ish bucks.

Throw out the original Remington trigger and replace with Jewell or Timney. Easy peasy.

If any of your friends have a Timney trigger on their rifle. Try it.
You may want to change it.

Very easy install.

No Worries OP. Its not like it was cut and dried. I do not regret not sending mine, as I posted on another thread. Should I or anyone else have to replace the trigger....NO. When you purchase the Firearm, in my opinion there is a reasonable expectation of performance. The fact that Remington "Failed", is a testament to where we are today. I think a 510 is the model I hear the most about.

Is the only difference between the part you touch with your finger (wide vs thin), or is there something else I'm missing?
So which 510 did you go with? I like the thin trigger shoe. At 1/4" it's not too thin, has grooves and is very comfortable. I tried a friend's wide trigger and didn't like it as much.

I guess he didn't think his comments had any value to the thread. I disagree, and would've liked to read the entire conversation, but it's his call.

Unfortunately a lot of people post a question and then do not like the answer/s they get. Whatever I post is pretty much always from years of experience. Sometimes its appreciated....sometimes its not. Oh Well.

He posted a thread about archiving all threads regarding magazines during freedom week. It didn't go well so he freaked out and deleted every post on every thread.

He changed every post he made prior to 4/19/2019 to --.
He continues to make new posts after 4/19/2019.

I don't know why he didn't just go delete his old posts rather then edit them.

I too replaced my Remington 700 trigger with a Timney Elite set at 2lbs from the factory and it is short and sweet; just when I'm thinking about pulling the trigger the rifle goes off and I'm getting 5/8-3/4" 3 shot groups @ 100 yards in .270; I'm going to do the same thing to my 30-06 but I think I'll try 2.5-3lbs on the next Elite Trigger.

Timney all the way, 510, or Calvin Elite, can't go wrong with either.
