I've got a 4x4, trash cans, and some misc tools. Might have something going on the 16th, but keep me posted!

ETA: I also have a dumpster at my house.

Talking Not trying to cause trouble

Hey y'all, LA chapter chiming in for anyone interested in an Anza Borrego meet in late February. I was shooting out there last year and noticed that the shooters weren't respecting the land and leaving their trash. I'm interested in cleaning up the area but can't fit much in my jeep. Let me know if you guys are interested in meeting up!

Here's my thread:
http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...1#post10332281
I will set a date later this week

I'm down for a clean and shoot. I've got 4wd but not much storage space. Can bring buckets, rake, plastic bags.

Weekend cleanups are great. I have a shovel, a home built brass sifter, and a good attitude.

Please DO NOT do any PRESS RELEASE. It's great to let the local BLM staff know that people are cleaning the place up, and it's great to make arrangements here on calguns, but we do NOT want the media publicizing either of the following:

A. That people can go out and shoot on public land (particularly specific spots, which the media would have no problem alerting the public too--which means more irresponsible shooters out there).

B. The state that these lands are already in (trash, trees all shot up, fires started, etc...).

We need to be good stewards of the land we use, which means cleaning it up, and NOT announcing to every a--hat out there where to take that new gun they bought "because they're gonna ban them" and be unsafe and a literbug, particularly given the political climate right now.

I am all up for taking out new shooters to our spots and teaching them the "rules" (clean up and be safe). It's a terrible idea, though, to let the press announce this to the public, because they will either twist it, or put out the info for the hordes without actually doing the education/teaching piece we all do when we take new shooters out.

I have Fridays off and know of a couple spots that could use cleaning. Mostly shot up plywood and pallets that won't fit in my car. I usually rake and fill up a trash bag or two when I'm out there. I have to remember to bring boxes or buckets for the broken glass.

There are other spots further East that could use a good cleaning.

I like to get in on this action. Weekends would be hard for me but I have a couple of days during the week that I could go out if anyone wants to try to put together something for a Tuesday's or a Thursday's. Other weekdays would be possible but would be a short day. I have a full-size 4-door 4x4 truck. So I could carry a few people. I could supply a couple trash cans, 5 gallon buckets, and many boxes. Also have a few shovels, rakes, and pairs of gloves. Trash bags at any store. I would certainly like to get together with some well like-minded people and do some good. I haven't been out to BLM lands but would like to shoot outdoors. So if anyone knows places that need attention and would like to set-up something during the week please PM me.

Weekends are available.

Subaru Forester (limited off road, can't carry much) & Ford Club Wagon (can haul a decent amount, but not off-road), basic cleanup stuff.

Seeing the abuse of the BLM land is sickening. I get about the same satisfaction picking up as I do shooting.

I'd be more than happy to help, keep me in the loop (unfortunately my schedule just sucks the next month or two). 4X4 4Runner with plenty of trash bags. I get really ticked off when people don't clean up after themselves.

Interested in lending my hand in on the effort. I've got a shovel, rake, and buckets, and can grab my wife's station wagon for transport if need be.

Really excited and driven to be able to contribute my time. Eager to get started.

The 16th works for me. Just post the times and meet spot. I can haul a few people and some equipment out there. I'm not gonna stay for a shoot though.

I will be in the middle of moving between apartments on the 9th so the 16th works best for me. I have the truck in my avatar and some tools(shovel for sure, possibly a rake, and maybe some buckets) that I can bring if I can make it.

I'm in, I think it's a great idea.. it just stinks most locations will be out at county line. It would be cool to leave some sort of "reminder" of the responsible shooters that offered to clean the mess up.

Have gear and as long as the mommy-van can get to the location, she's a hauler.

Warm weather would be nice.

I'm good for the 16th. Can provide a full size van (depending upon the site), small SUV, typical cleanup tools.

Never been to a cleanup. What's a typical cleanup like -- time spent cleaning, shooting...

Most weekends I can help with cleanup. Especially since this seems to be the only way find out where it is legal to shoot. I spent most of a week checking out areas that were supposed to be okay only to find out that each one of them was off limits to shooting for one reason or another. Seems like about 40% of San Diego county is BLM land but most of it is restricted for one reason or another.

Who says government in not the problem?

When I go offroading, I haul out as much as my truck can carry. When I go hiking, I leave the trail with a large garbage bag full every time. I also recycle everything that I can. I like to see nature without all the trash. I wish others would do the same. 8-)

Add me to the roll call!

I am recovering from C-spine fusion, so no heavy lifting for a while and unfortunately no shooting till about December.... I do enjoy getting out and helping out however I can!

I am in Mira Mesa, have a Nissan Titan 2wd with a soft shell, plenty of field tools and related gear, can haul bodies (and poss drag a couple extra along...)

As a thought for some of the areas that partially require 4x4, use the smaller capacity 4xs to ferry junk out to larger capacity 2x trucks (someone probably thought of this already, but I didnt see it posted so.... )

I am also a homebrewer so can help out with hydration dispensing hardware during the cleanup and some "cheer" for an after event debrief if such a thing happens....

Let's get one going soon!
