Love to shoot - usually shoot at Orosco if its open and there are no dumbass's shooting at rocks or out in the desert been wanting to look into the rainbow range though. New guy here in Carmel Valley. Recently got back into shooting after a 15 year dormant period after college. Been going to P2K range. It's a hike, but a really nice place to go.

Hayooo Nooob chiming in. new to Cal guns but about 10k of various cals shot over the years.
When I lived in LA there were more out door rainges "public" then here in SD. Need to brake in my 1100 and some new ar builds I have been tinkering with. Any good places to let some lead fly in North County? Thanks

outdoor ranges your looking at Rainbow shooting range (membership only)
Orosco Range (BLM Land) in ramona, ca or the Pala range at Pala Indian Res. Thats about it for the Close to north county area

Just signed up today. Haven't shot in about 10 years and finally got out and picked up a few firearms in the past 2 months. Remington 887 Nitromag and an Arsenal SGL23 AK 47.
I've been shooting at p2k when I'm in SD, but I would love to find a place (BLM land or otherwise) where I can bring my own trap-thrower and targets and shoot. I haven't had much luck in finding anywhere even remotely close and a search in the forums has turned up a few since-closed locations. Any ideas guys? I live in Pacific Beach, so the closer to the city the better. I don't have any preference as to whether I head due east on the 8 or up north via 15. Like many it seems, back into shooting after about 23 years. The internet sure makes things interesting. Man getting old sucks. LOL The last time I went shooting locally was just miles from home up 67 from Lakeside overlooking San Vicente, or Kitchen Creek. A bit of change since then. Less places to shoot but a lot more great San Diego breweries. Looking for that elusive ever changing BLM land. I thought Orosco was closed?

I'm not new to shooting, but am newer to gun ownership. I shoot surplus ammo, and have only shot at P2K because of this. I like going after 6 on weeknights and would always be up for sharing a lane if anyone wants to save some money.
