Let's get something going at P2K.
Personally I doubt if I will ever step foot in the pistol range area again ..every 30 minutes we were made to stop shooting, clear the weapons and exit the range, hang out for 10 minutes before being allowed back in to resume shooting ...If you don't mind laying all your weapons on footstools or the floor then this is the place for you !!! I'm assuming we had to clear the range to allow the Ventilation system to clear the air in the range ...

The 'stand down every 30 minutes' thing at P2K appears to be a temporary arrangement, until they complete the hard walls separating the pistol and 100 yard rifle range.

It is irritating, but since there is a chance of ricochets and/or crossfire between ranges, it is needed to allow the rifle shooters to reset targets every 30 minutes.

I've only been there once, but the ability to shoot 100 yds indoors - especially in the summer - is really nice. Just wish the range was not so far from me!

Default FYI: My Shooting Spots in San Diego

I like to shoot at Iron Sites in Oceanside, especially on Thursday nights for the "steel" matches, which include pistol and sometimes shotguns. It's a pretty far drive from Mission Valley though.

It's tough to beat South Bay Rod & Gun for rifle shooting, even if it takes the good part of an hour to get there. 300 yard range.

San Diego Tactical Shooters shoot IDPA once a month in Escondido, which is well worth it for those interested in brushing up their handgun skills. (an AWD vehicle is recommended, as the shooting spot is in BFE down a long forgotten County road.)

Let me know if you interested in trying to get together for one of these events. I can "scout/guide", as I have been there, done that.

Lemon Grove. Have shot most anything with a barrel attached. Mostly rifles now, carpal tunnel kinda forced the move away from handguns.

This is really pathetic. We have had over 200 people chime in on this thread and we couldn't get enough people [4/day]
to staff the CalGuns booth at the Del Mar Gun Show next weekend. {and CGN even pays for your admission}

Look at the posts in this forum. How about more forum info? The main thing seems to be to ask people to say hello, but then what? What about making it more accessible/relevant to SD regional posts? Limited # of people start threads (mostly by out of region Mods). Tons read them. You're not going to solicit support by bashing everyone with your "hello" post.

You can say the same as me, complain, etc., and "what are you doing to change anything?" OK. What else can we do besides staff a few shows? What info is there for people representing for CGN (and possibly not CGF) at these shows? Do they know the difference? I didn't until last week (thanks to Brandon/Wildhawker). Can we solicit separate funds and should we? How about a weekly/weekend range/match shoot? How about more support for these random UCSD shooting/training events? Is there a SD agenda? How can we help from here on out ( ie more than show up on sat/sun at some beef jerky/swap meet stc )?
