Default Project Appleseed Red Bluff,CA March 21-22

Get ready!!!! Project Appleseed Red Bluff at Tehama Shooters Association is coming!!!

https://appleseedinfo.org/schedule/?...ate=California

Red Bluff – Tehama Shooters Association

March 21-22

Project Appleseed is a non-profit organization that teaches 3 position riflemarksmanship (prone, seated/kneeling and standing). We teach you how to build a proper position, use of a sling for better accuracy, natural point of aim and more. This is great for all experience levels from beginner to advanced.

We also tell the story of the beginning of the Revolutionary War, April 19, 1775. We need to remember what those brave people went through that day, and the days/years to follow. This information is being lost in our schools.

Come join us!! Learn new skills. Dust off the rusty skills.

I’ll spread the word - I’m not in town that weekend, unfortunately (but I’d love to swing it if I can!)

Please spread the word. We have room on the line.

Next Red Bluff one is the end of May.

Project Appleseed is cancelling the March 21-22 event. This is due to concerns with the covid-19 virus. We are taking the approach of safety for our students and instructors. Our students will be sent an email alerting them to the cancellation and offering them to reschedule to a later event. We are hopeful that we can reschedule this event, maybe later in the year. Here is a link to Project Appleseed's notice to it's students. https://appleseedinfo.org/coronavirus-response/

Sigh, we also have a weather system coming in that is going to be wet and cold. I didn't think it was wise to put my students and staff in that cold and wet weather with the threat of this virus.

As of right now, we haven't cancelled any other events and I really hope we don't have to. But if it becomes necessary to protect my staff and the students attending our events, I will cancel the events. We are keeping an eye on the situation, not giving in to panic.

Hell, I haven't met you or interacted with you at all, and I appreciate all that you do. Thank you. I think that the Appleseed is a VERY important event, of which for some dumb reason I haven't managed to attend yet.

Is there a way to get email notifications for future events? I was registered for a Red Bluff event in 2018 but it was canceled, and I am hoping to catch one of the next ones.

Default How to find Project Appleseed Events....

I am a volunteer with Project Appleseed.

This is how you can find our events...
https://appleseedinfo.org/schedulemap/

I am not aware of any email notification system for events at a specific range.

Hope this helps.

I don't think there are email notifications. We usually post the next year's events in Jan/Feb (our events usually start in March). You are welcome to PM me and check if they are up.

I'm trying to make sure I post here on Calguns when the new dates are up and about a month before each date.

This stupid virus is making it difficult as I don't know when I'll have to cancel/reschedule an event right now. Things are changing sooo fast. Best I can suggest is check the appleseedinfo.org website or pm me. I try to check in here every few days.

Well heck, I had a nice reply all typed out...must not have hit submit...let's try this again...

Best age...depends on the youth and the parent. Ask yourself this: Is my child safe around firearms and a range environment? Can my child take direction from someone other than me? Realizing that this is an event that is 2 full days, is my child up for this? (no we don't make anyone shoot each and every course of fire, but mostly the question is will my child get bored and interrupt the class, or interrupt me while I'm learning/shooting?)

Best ages I've found is 8-9. That being said, I've had a couple 5 yr olds on the line who were safer than some of the adults on the same line. LOL

Make sure the child knows how to work the rifle they will be using (putting ammo in the magazine, put the mag in the rifle, how to lock the bold open, how to engage the safety) Also, make sure the rifle fits the youth the best you can. It's very frustrating for a youth to try to use a rifle that is too big/too heavy for them.

I hope this helps and looking forward to meeting you on the line (hopefully this year.)

Please let me know if you have any questions.
